The Upcoming DC Demo lineup . .. Kucinich, Lee, Amy Goodman, lots of bands . ..

Now the top two from the progressive caucus will be there - Kucinich and Lee - as well as a Green Party person. Funny to think of these politicos at demos with bands whose names suggest funk and acid . . . excellent. But actually I don't know these bands, so maybe they're more mainstream than they sound.

Greetings from Washington, DC. We are proud to inform you that a permit has been obtained from the National Park Service to throw a concert on the front lawn of the capitol building during the delivery of George W. Bush?s 2003
historic State of the Union Address on January 28th, 2003!

WHO: Performances by Thievery Corporation, Milemarker, Mr. Lif, DJ Tom B,1905, David Rovics, The Whips, 302 Acid, Jungle Jessi and Funk DC.

Speakers include Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH), Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA), Amy Goodman of Democracy Now, Charlie Sheehan -Miles of Veterans for Common Sense, Jeff Bale of the Washington Teachers Union, DAWN and Reverend Billy of the Church of Stop Shopping. Minneapolis City Council Member Natalie Johnson Lee will give the official US Green Party response.

WHAT: Rally, Concert and March to challenge Bush?s assessment of the State of the Union
