TA blast toll hits 23 with death of Chinese

Zhang Min Min, who was critically injured in last week's suicide bombings near the old central bus station in Tel Aviv, died yesterday at Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer. Zhang's death brought the number of victims in the double bombing to 23.
Zhang, who was 50, came to Israel from eastern China in 1999 and worked as a cook at a Chinese restaurant on the corner of Neveh Sha'anan and Bnei Braq streets, where one of the bombs went off. She never regained consciousness. Zhang planned to return to China next summer after she had earned enough money for her son to finish university.
Her husband and cousin were flown to Israel by the National Insurance Institute to be at her side. A ceremony for Zhang and two other Chinese citizens killed in the blast will be held today in Tel Aviv.
