The world community, including the Bush administration, has expressed alarm over the illegal demolition of Palestinian homes, yet the government of PM Ariel Sharon has accelerated the pace at which they are destroying property.

TALKING POINTS

*The Bush Administration has recently expressed alarm over the destruction of Palestinian homes. Despite these condemnations from the greatest donator of welfare to Israel, the government of Prime Minister Sharon has accelerated home demolitions. Ask President Bush to hold Sharon accountable to American demands if Israel wishes to continue
receiving aid.

*The destruction of Palestinian homes in the West Bank and Gaza are a concerted effort to uproot the Palestinian population prior to negotiating the final status of the land in peace negotiations. Sharon
is hoping to make room for the expansion of Israeli settlements and their Jewish-only bypass roads.

*These demolitions are also forcing Palestinian residents of East Jerusalem to leave the city due to lack of housing.

*International law explicitly states that the destruction of Palestinian homes is illegal, yet nothing is being done to put a halt to this Israeli crime that is occurring daily in Palestine. The US should immediately stop funding all regimes that blatantly refuse to
abide by international and humanitarian law.
