It is irresponsible to say that "the last unprotected old-growth redwoods" are being logged. It is true that a lot of old-growth redwood is getting cut this winter but to say that it is the is not only untrue but it could future efforts to protect threatened old-growth redwood forests. Creating untrue hype is not the way to save the forest. It discredits direct action activists in the eyes of people who know that there is more old-growth redwood forest that will be threatened by P.L. in the future.

There are less thn 1 % of the unprotected oldgrowth redwood trees left on the earth. I believe that would mean the last 1%! That means the last of them are being logged. I dont know how much time you spen out there in the forest , but I live there, in many forests, all Unprotected. and there is nothing left but a few big Trees here and there! Its the Truth. GO walking around in Freshwater or Elk River or Jordan creek or anywhere on Palco and other Industrial logging Company land and you probabally wont find enough oldgrowth trees to count on one hand! See for Yourself!

LP, you are an uninformed idiot. Would you please include a citation or reference to your data. And then go home, back to wherever it is that you came from, because you are not welcome in Humboldt County, jackass.

Boy, those tree-sits look really clean, don't they? I wish I could spend my days lazing around in a tree, writing poetry and singing songs, sleeping...what else do you do up there? I'd really like to know. Because while I'm on the ground, working and going to school, trying hard to be a productive citizen, these guys sit in around all day doing absolutely nothing to further themselves in life, to better their position. Oh wait! I guess they don't need to worry about things like money, do they, because they get all the money they need from mommy and daddy back home on the east coast or the bay area.

Go home, tresspassers. You aren't wanted or welcome in Humboldt County.

Are loggers the only people reading this page? The trees may reside in Humbolt, but they belong to all people and creatures in as much as they can belong to anything. Thanks, LP for your stewardship.

Peace to the family, aka you whose eyes peruse these words. I love you all as does divine creation. Peace to all who are risking thier life to protect the VERY last of the ancient redwoods. Less than 1 % of ancient redwood trees is a global emergency. This disrespect of mother earth threatens us all here on earth. The web of life is fragile and we need even the smallest organisms to survive. I'm sorry that some of you who respond feel that global destruction is acceptable. I for one love life AND the planet that provides life for my family daily. Thank you creation for life and thank you LP and friends for sacrificing your time and energy. It isnt just sitting! Ive been there. Truth remians true while falseness crumbles. protect our planet now, if you care about the lives of any creatures on it.

Boycott Gap and Old navy and banana republic!!! Tell everyone you know that these companies support old growth logging. This is one small step anyone can take. I urge the one love family: never give up! Though the road is rocky and steep and wicked people fight the earth at every opportunity, the children of creation must stay strong. I have survived cancers and surguries on my heart abd the earth too will survive. Forest defenders are a crucial element of earths self defense mechanism. Thank you everyone for keeping an open, accepting mind and not fighting needlessly with your family. If you want to attack us with hate it is your karma (good intentions) that suffer. We are not enemies. My heart beats as does everyones. It is with love and overstanding that society will forward.

My name is Kim, I am 15 years old, and I live in Pittsburgh, Pa. In school everyday I see unnecessary waste of paper in every classroom but there isn't much that I can do to prevent it. While surfing the net I stumbled on this website. I think it is wonderful what you are doing to protect the earths natural forests. It is very admirable. If anyone can think of a way to recycle paper in schools, please contact me.
