New Bay Area Alternative NEws

We are pleased to announce the creation of an entirely new alternative media source here in the bay area.

The Hip Hop Observer is a new web publication that provides one-of-a-kind coverage of the Bay Area Hip Hop scene, along with coverage of the national and international scenes, both underground and mainstream. We also provide coverage of our sister scenes - Metal, Punk, and Dance music; along with coverage of radical politics and current events.

We are an entirely grass-roots publication, and are rasing the start-up capital for our web and print publications by throwing shows and through advertisements. Nonprofit organizations/groups and local musicians get a special discounted rate.

Also: we're looking for writers! If you have a strong background in hip hop culture and are capable of writing professional-quality news articles, we would love to add you to our team. No one is getting paid for the first couple of months, until we get out feet under us financially; but if you provide consistantly high-quality work you're pretty much garaunteed a paid spot on the staff of our one-of-a-kind worker-owned newspaper.
