pbnberkeley news donation request - 12/20/02
Publishing, republishing and compiling community news and event information promoting global peace and working class solidarity and NO WAR!
Dear pbnberkeley readers;
i know that i sent this request out twice already
and i even called some of you on the phone and pestered you, heck, some of
you even sent me a donation just to get me to shut up. Thanks tons to those
of you who have helped me out. And happy seasons to everyone.
Nevertheless, i am sending out this fundraising appeal this one last time,
i promise, because i believe that many of you just did not look at my appeal
at the top of the newsletter when i sent it out. So, rather than send it
with the newsletter, i am sending it by itself.
Most of you probably simply scrolled down to the newsletter - and that's cool.
Anyway, as i did mention in my appeal, since moving down here to the
southland, things have gotten a little tight, financially. Before my relocation from the Bay Area, i had no problem raising funds with my sticker table - but that just hasn't been the case down here, so far. i am beginning to set up my literature/sticker tables on Venice Beach in Santa Monica and i
am learning quickly that this is the slowest, slowest time of the year.
i am sure things will pick up, but right now i have some bills hitting me
and i just need to ask for your $$$ help. As the only work that i do or
ever plan to do the rest of my life is in the movement and my only supporters are those of you who read my newsletter or stop by my political tables on the streets, well, i just have no one else to turn to in this time of need.
i am horrible at doing this and most embarrassed as i find it so much easier
to raise money for others, but for myself - well, this is not easy - so i
hope you believe that i would never be doing this if i did not REALLY,
REALLY need your $$ support right now.
So, rather than go on and on and on, if you can help, please do so.
Just make out checks to: john vance - AFAC and mail them to me at:
A First Amendment Center
PO Box 2647
San Marcos, Ca 92079
i should also have another newsletter out later today or tomorrow.
Please do what you can to raise hell about the muslims being detained by
the INS. Also. i will try and run some news about bush's upcoming plan to
'bug' the internet. i know the main group that might be involved in taking action against that online would be the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
i believe they are at http://www.eff.org
i will try and get details as i do need to call them. i will publish info
as i can get it up. And if you can help me out in this 'dire straits' moment,
thank you so much. NO WAR ON IRAQ - FREE MUMIA - FREE LEONARD - OVERTURN
THE USA PATRIOT ACT - REGIME CHANGE BEGINS AT HOME!
