Humboldt Forest Defense needs tree-sitters!
Right now(this winter) Pacific Lumber/Maxxam is destroying some of the very last of our unprotected old growth forests. In the last few weeks, trees over 500 years old have fallen under the company's chain saws, some dangerously close to peaceful demonstrators. There are currently 4 active tree sit areas on P.L. land with 24 tree sits and hundreds of people supporting them!

When the weather gets colder, however, many of our birds fly south and our need for dedicated tree sitters and supporters increases.

Why not start your new year high up in an ancient tree helping to protect our mother earth? We will provide all the training and support you need. The forest needs to know we care!

wool pants should be arriving at the redwood p&j center addressed to shunka. since he's in a tree i hope someone else will pick them up and hand them out. i would like the sitters to get a pair since i've read that they've gotten really wet. they were sent on tues. so should be arriving by the end of the week. no need to ask him for an ok since i'm the one sending them. prayers for you're safety , the trees and earth always being sent your way.
