from the Cheney Protest?

- the 'moving' protest, led by medea and the fake cheney were not able to be controlled and contained by the cops, although I imagine there was some negotiating that got done.

- having people on the inside is the *most* important factor since the protest on the outside will probably get almost no media coverage.

- using the event to give equal time to announcing upcomming events is boring, detracts from the energy, and makes people feel used. Please hand out fliers but do NOT spend the whole time at the mic - if there is one - announcing other actions.

- instruments instruments instruments! If there are enough people, the chanting, drumming, etc., is one of the most effective tools, since it gets everyone's attention.

- What else?

I attended the SF speech, and have two observations about those who were protesting. It's disgraceful to get up and yell while someone is talking - even if you disagree. It gives a bad name to those of us who disagree but actually have a way to argue our views. Second, get your facts straight. Printing falsified information on pamphlets will only weaken your arguments.
