PHOTOS: French delegates and others gather in Philadelphia for Mumia Abu-Jamal!

by Hans Bennett (destroycapitalism [at] hotmail.com)
More than 40 French delegates and others gathered at Philadelphia City Hall and marched to Ed Rendell's campaign headquarters to protest for Black political prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal's life and freedom. The big name speakers included Julia Wright (daughter of the late writer Richard Wright) and Sam Jordan of Amnesty International. Part one contains photos and this short essay. Part two will have more photos and a longer essay about the day.

This first photo is of Julia Wright with Ramona Africa in front of Philadelphia City Hall.
