music Video of Albany Bulb Party to stash food on 11/09/02!

by Dan Mattson (handyman [at] california.com)
On nov 9, 2002 about 75 lbs of rice and beans was stashed at the bulb. The main instrument in in this video is a five gallon can slid in and out of 12' concrete tube. This was the creation of this instrument and the first time it was played. It is still there for any who can find it to explore.

Humans as part of a Natural Ecosystem.

The Bulb began life as a landfill in the 1960s to create land for a commercial marina. The landfill guidelines were abused and it became a toxic dump.

Simultaneously, hardy people and plants established themselves. People who lived there were forcibly removed in 1998.

It is now part of the State Park system. They plan to spend millions of dollars to create a high maintenance manicured park.

A movement is forming to establish the Bulb, within the state park system, as urban feral space, where hardy plants and animals , including humans, can continue to establish themselves and evolve in a new and unique ecosystem, w/o input from taxpayer dollars.
