I want to say the candle lite march from the LGBT center up Market St last night was great. I like most of you was able to go to sleep and wake up this morning. Sadly Gwen was not able to do this due to the dispicable hate crime that took her beautiful body and spirit away from us all. Communication is a two way process. Something the corporate mainstream media obviously does NOT understand! We ALL educated them regarding using the CORRECT pronouns to use. Yet they continued to disregard this. Enough of this! How many more of us shall die? I am a transsexual woman. I am proud of my achievments to date. Yet when I go to school and work I must watch my back even in this supposedly liberal of cities, San Francisco! I feel it is getting more conservative as each day passes! However we all have voices. If enough of us were to march on Washington, A LOT OF US, then maybe some change may occur. I do doubt in my lifetime I will see transsexuals being accepted into the homogenized mainstream world. Gwen should never have died so horribly. I cried thinking of the way she must have screamed for her life. I hope the changes we transsexuals strive to make today will make life as a transsexual easier for generations of young transsexuals in the future! Their lives hopefully will have less bullshit to deal with. That is something to work towards! Also all of our diverse transgender communities must stop bickering and throwing shade at each other and come together as ONE! May your soul put beautiful makeup on other transsexual lives lost up in heaven. You should have had the chance to be the makeup artist that you wanted to be here on earth! Rest in peace my sister. I will see you GWEN when my time comes....
