An open apology to female IMC readers(and Socialist)

by Guerilla Designs
An apology to all of the women I offended by my horrible design depicting Feinstein and Bush
I owe you all a HUGE apology for the design I posted on this site. When my boyfriend and I made that design of Feinstein and Bush, it was completely motivated by anger towards her, and it was not borne out of any (conscious) anti-woman sentiment. It was merely an attempt to express our fury at her shameless subservience to Bush and her "let-them-eat-cake" attitude towards the public. I would have made the same design had Feinstein been male. However, I should have been cognizant of the fact that this design would be viewed from the vantage point of our patriarchal society, which views ALL women as being subservient to ALL men. As a gay man, I didn't even consider the fact that the sexual act in that design could be construed to somehow reinforce a fucked-up patriarchal ideology, because I don't (consciously, once again) view women as being inferior or subservient to men. I should have been more conscious of the statement that design made about power relations between men and women.

I am truly, deeply sorry.

Yes, it's automatic in our society - not your fault - I made the same mistake. Thanks for being so flexible, aware, and willing to admit this.

There are many gay and straight men who abhor pornography and it has no place in political discourse. It is always a sign of a very low level of political consciousness and does nothing to raise the political consciousness of the workingclass as it is always degrading. The fact that you were outraged by Senator Feinstein's pro-war vote means you have been completely removed from political reality for 30 years as Feinstein's entire political career has been reactionary. In fact, it was amazing that there were any anti-war votes at all in Congress and the Senate because they are all lickspittles of the capitalist class, or members of that class, which Feinstein is. Due to the mass volume of phone calls and letters, the 1/3 of the Senate that is up for election and all of the House which is also up for election felt the heat and some of them felt sufficiently insecure in their re-election bid or in maintaining their party's existence at home that they voted against war. That does not mean that they are anti-war; it just means they are insecure. The Democrat-Republicans are the twin parties of war and thus it should not surprise anyone that they vote for war. Stop voting for the Democrat-Republicans at any level of government.
