Congressman seeking dictator
Congressman, 74, Democrat, seeking younger dictator. Must be pro-Western. Call (650) 342-0300
In the September 30th issue of the Israeli newspaper Ha 'aretz Congressman Tom Lantos was quoted as telling MK Colette Avital of the Israeli Labor Party, "You won't have any problem with Saddam. We'll be rid of the bastard soon enough. And in his place we'll install a pro-Western dictator, who will be good for us and for you". http://www.haaretzdaily.com/hasen/pages/ShArt.jhtml?itemNo=214159
Congressman Lantos denied making these and other statements but the author and the witnesses are standing by the quotes and a follow-up article has been promised. We here at the Ronald Reagan Home for the Criminally Insane applaud Congressman Tom Lantos' initial frankness and decided to place a personals style ad in three newspapers in order to help Congressman Lantos find just the right dictator. The ad ran in the Friday, October 18th addition of the San Mateo County Times, the San Mateo Daily News and the San Mateo Daily Journal. The ad will also run again in the Monday and Tuesday additions of the San Mateo Daily Journal. The ad was paid for by Citizens for Regime Change in San Mateo / San Francisco and promotes a demonstration happening at Lantos' office on Wednesday, October 23rd located at 400 South El Camino Real in San Mateo taking place between 4:30-6:30 PM. This will be the fourth demonstration at Lantos' office called for by San Mateo Peace Action, Peninsula Peace and Justice Center and Global Exchange to protest Congressman Lantos' ghoulish support for an unprovoked war on Iraq. To see the ad (if it doesn't show up on the screen or to learn more about Congressman Lantos, the war on Iraq, the anti-war movement in the San Francisco Bay Area and creative protest by the Ronald Reagan Home for the Criminally Insane check out http://www.insanereagan.com

This "personal ad" works on so many levels. Lantos' statement is so offensive, and he apparently has no qualms about openly supporting US global domination/imperialism. The ad also evokes the long history of US- arranged marriages/regimes. What a great image to share with others. Thank you! I hope to see more people out in front of Lantos' office on the 23rd.
that's so cool. has it run in the newspaper yet?

I looked on TV yesterday and George Stephanopoulos was asking Colin Powell whether the tarot card leaving sniper is part of al Qaeda, and I was expecting a comedic drum roll at the end to indicate that it was a joke.

This is great!
Make fliers and distribute them! I was going to say at BART, but maybe putting them on car windowshields would be good for that area.

The ad ran in three San Mateo papers last Friday, October 18th. It will run again today, Monday, October 21 and tomorrow, Tuesday, October 22 in the San Mateo Daily Journal.
Giving out the ad as flyers in the area - District 12 which covers most of San Mateo County - places like Daily City, Pacifica and San Mateo as well as some parts of San Francisco like the Sun Set - is a great idea.
