10/10: The Navy's Blue Death Terrorizes SF

For the 20th year, fascist Fleet Week and its accompanying horror, the Navy's Blue Angels aka Blue Death have arrived in San Francisco for the Columbus Genocide weekend celebrations, October 10-12, 2002, reminding us of the horror and waste of the criminal military.
For 1.5 hours on Thursday, October 10, 2002, from noon to 1:30 p.m., the Blue Death swooped illegally low over heavily-populated San Francisco with their horrificly loud screaming engines, reminding us of the horrors of war and the waste of oil and our tax dollars that is the entire stinking military. They were so low and loud that we could not hear the person next to us talking and made eating lunch very difficult and nerve-wracking. The military does not exist to entertain anyone and this was certainly not entertaining. It was criminal, frightening and deadly. One wrong move and they are on the ground and dead, and a lot of people on the ground are dead. War is all about killing people and being killed to maximize profits of the munitions makers and other war profiteers.
This whole show has returned, after an absence in 2001, at the invitation of that good Democrat, the fascist election-frauding organized crime thug "mayor" Willie Brown, to promote business at Fisherman's Wharf, and of course, to promote war, which Democrat Willie Brown adores as it helps maximize the profits of his investments, which is all Willie Brown cares about.
The ships for Fleet Week come from San Diego and Hawaii at taxpayer expense as we have no Navy base here, thanks to our many peace demonstrations. It is long overdue that Fleet Week and the Blue Death flights be banned from the entire San Francisco Bay Area forever.
We can all use this deadly, criminal air show as an object lesson. When they scream their murderous death machines overhead and you are outside among lots of people, you can point to them and chant "That's why we're so poor; money for jobs, not for war." If you are home, you can open your windows and call any supervisor at City Hall and tell them or their answering machine that this is how it sounds inside your home. They have received thousands of signatures on petitions from San Francico residents demanding that the Blue Death and Fleet Week be banned from San Francisco. Their phone numbers and E-mail addresses can be found at:

Those of you in the Peace Navy and other protest actions, please post your activities. This should be made part of all our peace actions this historic week. when we protest the pro-war votes of a criminal government, both Democrat and Republican, representing a bankrupt social order.

Oh great, the Blue Assholes are in town again. Every drooling goober from Modesto's going to come out with a big hardon for these heros of destruction. A great time to wheatpaste anti-war flyers all over the Marina.
I’m all for Fleet Week. The atmosphere there has always been positive and Fleet Week brings in several millions of dollars to the City. The people there all enjoy watching the Blue Angel Air Show and the thrill of those twin jet engines as they buzz through the city. Everyone with smiles on their faces walking along the piers looking at the large ships and showing their appreciate to the service men and women in our military.
With the Giants in the NCLS (hopefully the Blue Angels will buzz PacBell Park) and the Navy Ships in town with some nice weather this weekend, looks like it's going a great weekend in SF.

Let's see who San Franciscans consider the larger annoyance: Fleet Week or Critical-Mass...
Critical Mass may perhaps be a larger annoyance, but it won't incinerate scores of people if something goes wrong. And Critical mass may cost some in police overtime, but nothing compared to all those jets, pilots, fuel, coast guard, security, police overtime, etc. And all so the Navy can trick gullible wide-eyed boys into thinking they will join the navy and become pilots. That's about as likely as getting picked up by the NFL and in most cases they end up scrubbing toilets for six years.
It's simply not worth either the cost to us taxpayers that don't benefit monetarily or more importantly the risk of a fiery holocaust in downtown SF simply so shops at the wharf can hock jimcracks and crab legs to overweight tourists, and one of these days the odds will catch up with us.
Perhaps the only use for this is to give Americans a taste of the terror felt by people in places where the jets aren't there to entertain but to kill and don't leave town when fleet week ends, but stay day in and day out to force US policy on them.

Too dangerous, eh? OK I'll give you there's a chance something could go wrong...
But if that's the case, we most *certainly* should close all 3 airports in the Bay Area, as they have flight patterns that take them over populated areas on a regular basis. An airliner crash would be much more devastating than a small fighter, woudn't it?

So sorry the Navy's finest "made eating lunch very difficult" for you. Thank God there are true Americans such as yourself who are willing to make such terrific sacrifices for our country. Me certainly hopes they didn't intrude on your nappy time, tough guys!
it is a recrutment ploy. and a show of power. one of those planes of blue that do no combat, would be of better use if sold or never bought.
Why pay for corporate greed.? the excess would provide all social service needs and the rebuilding of our infristructure like roads and bridges and housing.
the waste of billions on more oil is as insane as it gets, it would easily fund solar and hydrogen.
