NO PRIDE IN DAVIS' PRISON STATE!
Join queers and their allies as we demonstrate against Governor Gray Davis' prison policies during his fundraiser at the San Francisco Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center. Davis thinks he has the queer vote in the bag, but we will be there with our straight allies to expose his inhumane treatment of prisoners and their families. We demand:
* abolish the death penalty
* overturn the three strikes law
* parole and clemency for lifers
* no more prison construction
* fund education not prison guard salaries
* clemency for Nobel Prize nominee Stan Williams
Demonstrate:
MONDAY, OCTOBER 7, 5 P.M.
LGBT Community Center
1800 Market Street
San Francisco
As queers, we are continuously fighting for our human rights. We believe that an injury to one is an injury to all! We demand justice for our sisters and brothers in prison. Come out to protest Davis' prison policies and learn more about our LGBT sisters and brothers behind the walls.
Called by:
American Friends Service Committee; California Coalition for Battered Women in Prison; LAGAI - Queer Insurrection; California Prison Focus; Critical Resistance; Death Penalty Action Team; California Coalition for Women Prisoners; Death Penalty Focus; Out of Control – Lesbian Committee to Support Women Political Prisoners; Legal Services for Prisoners with Children; Campaign to End the Death Penalty.
