13 Women, 13 Trees, 13 Days! Goddesses Rock the Treetops in Humboldt's Ancient Redwoods!

Update on Happenings in the Canopy of the Humboldt Redwoods. Also getting the contac out for "WE SAVE TREES" , a group of active Forest Defenders.

High in the treetops of Humboldt County's Ancient Redwoods, Activists are reclaiming the Forests and standing up to the continuous onslaught of oldgrowth logging. As Pacific Lumber continues to devestate already severly impaired watersheds, Activists work by night setting ropes, traverses and platforms to build "Ewok Villages" to protect these Ancient trees. September 23rd will kickoff our "Goddess" action, in which 13 women will tree-sit for 13 days, in 13 different trees. All the trees are in active Timber Harvest Plans. Specifically focused on the Grizzly Creek, Freshwater, and Mattole Watersheds, this action is a message to the Pacific Lumber Company...that as long as you continue to exploit our natural resources, devestate our precious watersheds, and ignore the needs and concerns of our community, locally and globally, that we will continue to resist in non-violent direct action and we will continue to rise up to the canopy and take our forests back! One at a time, People are awakening to the reality at stake... and are climbing to the branches of these ancient beings and devoting their lives to putting an end to P.L.'s ongoing destuction of the forest. P.L. continues to fall trees these and other watersheds despite a stay on advancing timber operations ordered by Judge Golden in a Humboldt Co. court on Aug.29th. We need your help to continue efforts in the woods. To contact us...call us @ We Save Trees 707-498-3424 or e-mail us at wesavetrees [at] ziplip.com May the Force be with You!
