3 Greens Running for Office in SF - Matching Funds Deadline Wednesday!!
Help the Greens qualify for their first race using public financing, a critical necessity to run a successful campaign!
Exciting campaigns are ahead for the fall and we need your help!
The SF Green Party has 3 local Green Party candidates for the November election. There are also many more campaigns we have endorsed and are involved in including Peter Camejo for Governor. See Campaigns and Endorsements for details.
Barry Hermanson, a respected Green activist is running for District 4 (Sunset) Supervisor. He needs financial help immediately (the deadline is Wednesday 8/7) to qualify for up to $40,000 in public financing. Please contact him at 415-664-7754 or barry@hermansons.com if you can help financially or if you'd like to get involved with this campaign. He will be raising important issues like working to oppose "HOPE" and "Care not Cash" and supporting public power, affordable housing, and other local initiatives on the Nov. ballot.
Sarah Lipson, a teacher, and Whitney Leigh, a juvenile justice advocate are running for the School Board of San Francisco. Please visit http://SarahLipson.com and http://WhitneyLeigh.com then contact Sarah at sarahlipson@hotmail.com and 415-876-4976 if you'd like to get involved.
There is already one Green, Matt Gonzalez, sitting on the Board of Supervisors, and one Green, Mark Sanchez, sitting on the School Board. Both have been bringing a truly progressive voice to city government, and we need to keep increasing our number of elected officials. After the victory of Proposition A, for Instant Runoff Voting in March we are confident in our abilities to wage serious grassroots campaigns untainted by corporate money. Please help us in any way you can.
