Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, and Transgenders Behind Bars
Join us for an evening of discussion and information sharing as former prisoners, prison activists, and advocates discuss the massive incarceration of prisoners in the United States and the abuses faced by lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgenders who get caught up in the process.
July 17th
7 PM to 9 PM
The SF LGBT Community Center, 4th Floor, Ceremonial Room
(1800 Market Street @ Octavia)
Speakers include:
*Linda Evans
Lesbian political prisoner of 16 years; AIDS, anti-racist, feminist, and anti-imperialist activist.
*Veronika Cauley
Transgender rights advocate and candidate for District 8 SF Supervisor.
*Judy Greenspan
Longtime prisoner advocate for HIV/Hepatitis C and LGBT prisoners. Political organizer for numerous events including the 1987 March on Washington.
*Antoine Mahan
Community activist and HIV+ former prisoner.
Plus many more! Former prisoners are encouraged to come share their stories!
Open to the public. Food & drink provided. Donations requested. No one turned away for lack of funds.
