A drug lord and his fashionable tennis shoes (photo by Latuff)

by Latuff (latuff [at] uninet.com.br)
One of the Brazil’s top drug lords Fernandinho Beira-Mar, as he is known from his days as the kingpin of Rio de Janeiro’s shantytown drug trade, is seen in this picture I shot inside court building few weeks ago, wearing Ferrari tennis shoes, available in shoe shops for 500 reais (about US$ 130).

So what's the point?
by latuff fan
the point is ...
you anti-latuff people are braindead. what could possibly be the connection between the international drug trade and the "legitimate" trade?
stupid fuck.
by Ronnie Ray-Gun
No, I don't see people smuggling sneakers through the border,I don't see people overdoseing on sneakers either. There is alot of child labor involved in the sneaker industry in China but Latuff will never critize his fellow commies.(only Capatilism, America and Isreal are bad).
by aaron
ronnie ray-gun, you stupid turd:

China is now a vast work-shop for global capitalist manufacturing. Doesn't that make it, by any definition of the term, NOT communist? Why do you think Kissinger is so high on the place?

Give it some thought jack-ass. Better yet, just think.

by abesoljacob
Good thing Fernandinho Beira-Mar wasn't a Jew. Given the opportunity, Latuff would have shot more than just a picture.

>China is now a vast work-shop for global capitalist manufacturing. Doesn't that make it, by any definition of the term, NOT communist?

The fact that China uses child labor is one of the very reasons it IS communist. Leftists love to use children. See elsewhere the report on how some NAMBLA members sought solace among anarchist (by aaron's own admission). What is it about anarchy that made these NAMBLA people even believe they would be accepted? Must be something or they wouldn't have even tried.

HE IS THE MOST CREATIVE MAN IN THE WHOLE UNIVERSE.

So Nike subcontractors operating in China are communist because some sleaze-bags attempted unsuccessfully to ingratiate themselves to american anarchists in the early 90's?

That's dope!
by Ronnie Ray-Gun
The Peoples Republic of China still considers itself communist. Latuff has never made one cartoon critizing the place(despite being 1# human rights offander). If anyone studies Latuff's work you can see that he has a grudge against America. Becouse of his bias, its impossable to take his work seriously. Some of his work, like the Kursk tragedy, are flat out wrong.
At times he can be funny but the humer is not as cleavor has cartoonist's like Tooles or Olliphant, it mostly runs on shock, and it works.

Point is the guy's dodging your inquiry. Let's move this discussion over to the "I hate pedophiles, she said" area where aaron got this whole thing about NAMBLA/ anarchist started with his comment. Of course, we should include in that his latest revelation about the time frame being "in the early 90's".

aaron, if you're listening, you and nessie got some talking to do. He deserves an answer. We all do. Pop over to the "I hate pedophiles, she said" discussion, won't you. Thanx in advance.

If China is communist for it's policies towards child labour, then what is Amerikkka, with it's blind eye on the continued, jew owned child sex industry? What of India ( a democracy ), with it's huge child labour force ?
What about Canada, with it's increase, in child prostitution? What's the average age of a heroin user in Britain?
Hay, i don't believe in Communism, but Communism isn't the only culprit in this world, it's just an associate.
by Hamid
"...on the continued, jew owned child sex industry..."

You mean, Muslim owned child sex industry, right? Muslims fund and own 3/4 of pedophile sites, and that's a fact. Child trade for sexual pleasure is widespread in the lands of Islam.

I'm not dodging the inqury at all, Latuff loves communism and hates America and capitalism and his insane cartoons twist facts and logic.China produces the majority of sneaker ware in the market. The point I'm tring to make is Latuff has never critized China. He and http://www.Editorialcartoons.net have gloryfied China and it proves more that Latuff is not a "social and political actavist" but a propaganda piece for dictatorships have are anti-American.

China is the fastest growing market-capitalist economy in the world. It has recently been reported that many manufacturers based in the maquiladoras in Mexico are making the exodus to China because wages are significantly lower there. Indeed, manufacturing is moving to China from all over the world -- making it more and more global capital's shop floor.

The US media concentrates on the rise of a middle class in the eastern sea-port regions of China because such stories seem to vindicate the putative transition from communism to capitalism. Rarely do we hear of the assassinations of bosses, strikes, and riots that are becoming increasingly common in China, particularly in the interior. It is estimated that in a decade there will be as many as 150,000,000 migrants in China -- those who've been kicked off the land and axed from state-run enterprises.

A couple months ago the LA Times had a piece on the fall-out from the transition from stalinism (state-capitalism) to market capitalism in China, highlighting the situation in the mines. The new private mines are almost completely unregulated, with terrible wages, and massive fatality rates. Men are hired with little or no training and safety measures are almost non-existent. By comparison, the state-run mines, the story said, are like four star hotels -- relatively good wages, benefits, and safety.

What we are seeing in China is classic capitalist :"development". The fact that it is presided over, and administered by, a police state is also classic. The fact that this police state calls itself 'communist' makes no difference in the final analysis, although it serves to confuse some addled rightists in the US.
