Julia Butterfly Hill in Berkeley
Although this maybe not the perfect place to put this announcement, I wanted to let everyone know about this event happening in Berkeley.
On Friday, June 7th 2002, Julia Butterfly Hill, a renowned and truly inspirational environmental activist, will be speaking as part of a fundraiser for the Common Ground small learning community at Berkeley High. Common Ground is a small “school within a school” dedicated to social and environmental justice. At the event there will also be poetry and spoken word and all different kinds of art. The fundraiser will be at St Joseph the Worker School (on the corner of Addison, between California and McGee in Berkeley) at 7pm on June 7th. The tickets are 7 dollars for students and 12 dollars for everyone else. Light refreshments will be provided and additional donations are encouraged. Doors open at 6:30. This will be a very interesting and exciting event so come and tell others about it. For more information please email CGJuliaEvent [at] hotmail.com.
