I was there at he protest and the only violent people there were the cops. They arrested and peppersprayed the peacfull protesters and wouldn't let them finish their march. If the CHP would of let us pass there would of been a nice peacful demonstration and no one would of been hurt or arrested.
My significant other and I were there today on the Golden Gate Bridge. The physical confrontations were forced by law enforcement, not by the activists. The level of response by law enforcement was amazing (100+ officers, a helicopter, horses, a tear gas specialist, several vans, a Golden Gate Transit bus to cart off detainees.) My tax dollars at work!
The time restrictions on peaceful free speech activities on and around the bridge were really absurd. That said, if it wren't for security measures that slowed the march, we might actually have made in across and back within the 12-2PM time limit.
It was a good day for anti-war vigilance (though a bigger crowd might have been nice.) It was not such a good day for civil rights. The Park Police and CHP are clearly a little behind on community policing.
Thanks to all the patient drivers on the GGB for honking and sharing peace signs. To those who could only muster a single finger, why do you hate us so much?

Carrying a terrorist organization flag (PLO) in a "peaceful" march is exposing the activists real agenda, that's why.

Most of the people flipping us off had American flags on their cars. If the U.S. military, CIA and police -- and the IDF -- aren't terrorist organizations, I don't know what else you can call them.
