Update on male detainees on hunger strike in Israeli detention
The situation of the men in detention becomes even more urgent as a holiday weekend approaches in Israel. Call now!
One of the detained men named Nathan (there are two) requests:
Please call/fax the Israeli embassy in the United States to protest.
Also hassle the ministry of interior. Numbers are on
jerusalem.indymedia.org website.
The guys' lawyer says that they are drinking water, as far as she is aware (they continue their ongoing hunger strike). The American embassy is not returning the lawyer's calls.
There is a Jewish holiday beginning on Thursday. This means that israel 'shuts down' until
Sunday, BUT the american embassy is not open on Sunday. There is great urgency now. if we can get the embassy to move now then maybe we can see
everyone flying out on Thursday, but if not, nothing will happen until next week.
(this report came from one of the detainees' advocates in the Middle East)
