AS PEACE IS IN CRISIS SO ARE OUR FORESTS
ANNOUNCING A MOTHERS DAY FOREST TEACH IN FROM:
ROOTS OF CHANGE
THE ENVIRONMENTAL BATTLE IN OUR FORESTS MUST NOT BE FORGOTTEN DURING TODAY?S HUMAN WARS
As Earth ignites in human conflict, Roots of Change is holding a teach-in, to remind the public of the continuing corporate driven attacks on forests, and to help build the movement, and strategies, to save them.
Through the Reagan, Clinton, Bush, Pete Wilson, and Gray Davis administrations, the environmental movement has been seriously losing ground in saving forests. A key purpose of the teach-in will be to address this crisis, and the solutions to it.
We must not forget that war, and the war on the environment, are waged by the same corporate and political forces.
As weapon and oil mongers create and exploit an unstable globe, so do vast timber corporations undermine government and laws to liquidate forest ecosystems, committing their own acts of ecological war and genocide.
Knowledge is power. Examining our ecosystem and the corporate machine attacking it, gives us strength, connection, and understanding with which to prevail over that machine.
Join us in an afternoon of teaching and music to help save Mother Earth on Mothers Day:
WHEN: Sunday, May 12th, 2002, 12 noon until 7 pm
WHERE: CELLspace, 2050 Bryant (near 18th St)
San Francisco, California
PRESENTERS INCLUDE: Roots of Change, Earth First!, Rainforest Action Network, Save the Redwoods Boycott the GAP, La Tigresa, Doug Thron, Tim Ream, Muchas Bluegracias, and many others.
Donations requested, but no one turned away for lack of funds.
