Former Bay Area resident and others detained by IDF

by Mahtin
A former Bay Area resident named Trevor is one of several people who have been detained (pending deportation) by the Israeli Defense Forces. They are on a hunger strike.
Here is a link to a bit of information one of the American men who are on a hunger strike while being detained by the Israeli Defense Forces:

http://www.grassrootstech.org/trevor/

Trevor went to Bethlehem as a member of the International Solidarity Movement, and, along with several other detainess, has been on a hunger strike during his detention by the Israeli "Defense" (Occupation) Forces.

This hunger strike is the prisoners' way of trying to bring attention to the struggle of the Palestinians against the Israeli occupation, as well as to shine a light on their illegal detention.

I was friends with him when he lived here in the Bay Area 1-2 years ago. Please help publicize his case and his treatment by the Israeli government. They should release him immediately. However, please bear in mind that his goal is to help publicize the plight of the Palestinian people. Check out the Palestine Indymedia site: http://jerusalem.indymedia.org

I'm very sorry that I don't know exactly who to contact for up-to-the-minute info. I'd recommend the Israeli consulate here, or US Consulate closest to Hebron. Perhaps if we harass them for information (or call to demand his release), we'll be able to get them to let him go.

The USA must withdraw to its' Pre-1848 borders and return "occupied" land to its rightful owners, the Mexicans.
The USA sent an army to Mexico City and after a protracted seige, forced Mexico to give up Arizona, New Mexico and California.
by just wondering
And this would be bad, why?

All Mexicans with traces of Spanish blood would have to be rounded up and deported to Spain, as Spain "occupied" much of the Americas...

Puh-lease. How far back do you want to go with this?

BTW - I don't recall ANY of the left leaning organizations protesting the brutal occupation of Eastern Europe by the Soviet Union...

I was excited to see that there were comments in response to what I had written about Trevor. However, I was disappointed to see that people had taken the discussion in a different direction.

In light of that, here are my thoughts:
-I'm not sure if Trevor and the other prisoners are making a specific demand regarding Israeli pullout. That's why I didn't mention it in my article.

-I personally would like to see the Israelis pull out of Palestine/the Middle East entirely. However, I know that this is not a realistic solution. As an anarchist, I don't think that the "2-state solution" is appropriate, either. Where does that leave us? As a person who grew up and was educated in 2 of the religious traditions that see places like Bethlehem as important to their religions, I think it's terrible that people think they have to fight so much and that beautiful buildings and memorials (however tourist-oriented they may be) are possibly being destroyed as I write this.

-One of my friends pointed out a silly thought: Texas has a similar climate to Israel, and that there's plenty of open land. The Palestinians could be given a large parcel of land (larger than Israel! perhaps near Palestine, Texas?), and the Israelis could be given a portion of land the same size, but on the other side of the state. They wouldn't be so overcrowded, and they wouldn't have to live together! Now how's that for colonization?

-As an American of European descent, I feel terrible about the atrocities that my ancestors inflicted upon the people who got here before them (the "Native Americans"). As a person who moved from the east coast to Califas, I could be seen as a double colonizer. But we can't exactly go back to Europe, now, can we? It'd be too overcrowded and many of us would hate the lack of diversity. Also, indigenous cultures and populations have been decimated. And there are few "pureblooded" "Indians" at this point. Would they be allocated a portion of land according to the percentage of indigenous blood they have? Uh uh. So what _can_ we do?

Any progressive vision of the future demands that we smash every border in the world not as Donald suggests to redraw them such as the western part of the US going back to the Mexicican state. While this particular third rate nationalist idea has absolutely no support other nationalists ideas do have traction on the left i.e, support for various nationalisms like Puerto Rican, Palestinian, Kurdish etc... All of the these nationalisms represent the new embryonic ruling class in waiting. We need envision a nonmilitaristic global class war against the armed states-gangs be they capitalist, nationalist, communist, fundamentalist, islamic, zionist etc...

A genocide from over a hundred years ago should not be used to justify present-day crimes against humanity.

Look here, Zionist sympathizers, it's time for Israel to get OUT of the Occupied Territories.

Nothing more. Nothing Less.

Um, jackass? They're not 'occupied" territories. They are land taken as the result of victory in a war they did not start. Israel is under NO obligation to give these lands back. International law does not call for lands won in military victory to be given back. Learn some history, asshole, before spouting off leftist drivel.

Thanks, and have a nice day!

Thanks, American Patriot - Heywood Jablowme Now we know what makes America the great place it is. Violent minded thick heads like you, who believe that terratorial accuisition through an act of war can be condoned, despite UN resolutions to the contrary. What a nit wit. Put in the jack boot first. Typical twat.

Thanks, and have a nice day to you. You just wanted to wind them up, right? Peace Brother!

Zionists love to point to the 1947 UN offer of 2 states as the Arab rejection of peace and then dismiss the UN when resolution 242 calls for Israeli withdrawal out of the OCCUPIED TERRITORIES. Israel only agrees with the UN only when its convenient. The whole world considers the West Bank and Gaza occupied by Israel including the majority of Israelis Jews. The real subtext of people like Heywood is the ethnic cleasing of the Palestinians out of Palestine. Heywood is for population transfer. No? If Palestinians were made Israeli citizens there would be no Jewish state so sending them to Arab countries is the only solution.
