Dear Nancy Pelosi,

by matt
An Open Letter to Nancy Pelosi, she is a member of the U.S. House of Representatives' Foreign Operations sub-committee, Plan Colombia money comes from this groups decisions.
Dear Nancy Pelosi,

Recently I was watching CSPAN and Mr. Richard Armitage was testifying
before the U.S. House of Representatives' Foreign Operations sub-committee. In
part of his testimony Mr.Armitage said speaking about Ecuador that "we have a
small problem in the tri-border area with Al-Qaeda and some Hezbollah elements".
Nancy I am a bit worried by Mr.Armitages' Statements, as the Deputy Secretary of
State I am concerned that these statements are not founded on truth. I understand
the need to fight terrorism, but how far is this going? I have recently been doing some
research on Mr.Armitage and I find is character to be in serious question, this is a
guy that has a shady past and present. His past ties included the "Phoenix
Project" in Vietnam using heroin to fight "communism". Iran-Contra associations with
Theodore Shackley, Edwin Wilson, Richard Secord, Thomas Clines, and recently
(1997) he was a paid consultant along with others in an Oil Pipeline Project in
Burma. (UNOCAL paid for this trip). I’m no conspiracy theorist but i am afraid of
unchecked power of military men, after serving 6 years honorably in the Gulf War, I
must say that I have seen my fair share of guys with power trips. Richard Armitage
looks like one of those guys, I just wonder why in the same tri border area of
Ecuador (where Al-Qaeda is supposedly located) there is an on going struggle
against the building of a new Oil Pipeline? The indigenous peoples of that region
seem concerned about the environmental damage a new pipeline will bring. I hope
they are not fingered as the new "Terrorists".
