The Beginning Of The End Of Jewish Post-War Ascendancy?

Please dont missunderstand the french political "apocalyps" that started sunday night, as we learned that "le pen" (won t put capital letters on that name) would participate to the 2nd turn of the elections against J. Chirac (actual president).

The problem was much more complicated as the left- wing of the government didn t assume its role and made L. Jospin (socialist actual prime minister expected to run for president against Chirac)loose many votes that have put him on the third place of these election with 16,5%.

The problem was also due to the media and the politicians as the manipulated the public opinion:
All the candidates borrowed le pen's speech of insecurity (giving that man a lot more consideration) and also the surveys that were always giving Chirac and Jospin as the 2 candidates for the 2nd turn.

France is trying to deal with the antisemitism that has grown since the climbing of slaughter in the middle east.

French were shoked by the results and people were in the streets sunday night right after the results, and most candidates encoraged the people to vote for Chirac (even if they all know he won t be the best president) just to prevent le pen from winning.

The problem as you see it is not COMPLETELY linked with israel latest crimes even if everyone gives support to one side or another. The problem is that extremist-right-wing government are speading over europe and sunday s elections was the most powerful wake up call for french people for a long time.

I wish someone would actualy murder that racist, violent, revisonist, liar, manipulative bitch, but I think it would just give more popularity to his party.

EU and continued globalization in the form of continued importation of cheap foreign labor have much to do with right wing politicians finding favor in a large number of German Austrian and French voters.

Le Pen is clearly revealed (as you correctly point out) to be "racist, violent, revisionist, liar, manipulative." He also has an affinity for dishonesty, opportunism and lusts after the use of torture to boot.

Shamir wrongly places too much weight on the Middle East causing a right wing backlash. However, Shamir very correctly perceives the growing worldwide groundswell of anger, not against Israel, but against world Jewry. Shamir, and hundreds of thousands Israeli's have worked hard and long for a just peace with Jews and Arabs living side by side. And he doesn't like it one bit that Jews through out the entire world are being subjected to terrorism and racism because of a demented Sharon's plan for Eretz Israel fro Sinai to the Persian Gulf.

Many Palestinians and Arabs who oppose Arafat have called for terrorism and killing of Jews in every place in the world they are found. The right wing Jew Haters in the United States are now advocating violence against Jews in the United States. And right wing Americans are not about to use suicide bombs. There is no need for killing yourself when you are amongst the most heavily armed citizens in the entire world.

What Shamir seeks to head off is a new and more virulent holocaust which any fool can see brewing, not just in Europe, not just in Arab States, but throughout most of the world. This is why I believe one has to forgive Shamir his excesses, and biases. He, like most everyone else, on both sides of the Israeli/Sharon issue, are striking out in utter frustration and anger as the escalating murder and mayhem in the Middle East continues to be turned up by Sharon.

Shamir believes he is a true Jewish patriot in that he seeks to save Jewish lives worldwide, and not just enable greedy Zionist to steal even more land in the Middle East to fulfill some nutcase Old Testament ravings about Eretz Israel.
