Also on display, for comparison, will be an intact model of the 1981 Subaru four-wheel drive GL station wagon. The cars will be displayed in the Ampco parking lot at 15th and Jefferson.
Attorneys for the plaintiffs will use the vehicle to demonstrate that the bomb was clearly underneath the driver’s seat, and that it was a deliberate lie to have stated that the bomb was in the back on the floorboard near the intact rear seat.
Tuesday’s witness schedule is likely to include:
· Concluding cross-examination of defendant Sgt. Sitterud, Oakland Police Dept., Homicide Division, chief investigator for Oakland at the bomb scene, who drafted a second search warrant falsely claiming that nails in Judi’s home and nails in the bomb were within the same batch of 800-1000 nails. Lead attorney Dennis Cunningham will conclude the cross-examination.
· Defendant Sgt. Robert Chenault, OPD, Homicide Division, second assigned investigator at the bomb scene, who drafted the initial warrant with dictation by FBI agent Doyle, and who claims Doyle told him about the nails, about the blast hole being behind the driver’s seat, and other falsehoods. Robert Bloom will carry out the examination.
· Sgt. Myron Hanson, OPD, member of bomb and arson squad, trained by Doyle, who took notes of Doyle’s association of plaintiffs with FBI terrorism investigation. Tony Serra will examine the witness.
· Sgt. Del Kraft, OPD, who inspected the car at the bomb scene and took notes. Tony Serra will examine the witness.
The trial will continue until approximately May 24, 2002, in the Oakland Federal Courthouse, 1301 Clay St., Judge Claudia Wilken’s courtroom (4th floor). Hearings take place Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. The proceedings are open to the public.
