April 14-15:Tell Congress No US Aid to Israel

Where do I begin with my response to this article? First of all, Israel is not murdering people in the territories, they are attempting to break the terrorist cells that exist in the villages, cities and refugee camps. They are working, at great personal risk to themselves, without the cover of the airforce (what America did in Afghanistan) and are going from house to house by themselves in order to protect civilians. The terrorists, however, are making it more difficult for them to keep civilans out of the picture, as the terrorists are hiding behind their own women and children. Israelis have been subjected to a type of terror that no country has ever known and has shown an incredible amount of restraint for over a year and a half. Terror that had increased (because it has been ongoing for years) while Israelis and Palestinians were in the midst of peace negotiations - and when Israeli troups had already left the territories for a significant amount of time, and Israel, along with other nations, had given a great amount of money to the Palestinians to build their society. Money that unfortunately never got to the people in need.

And as to the other issue you brought up - Israel was created in the following way: the partition plan was offered by the British, dividing what remained of Palestine (for Jordan had also been once a portion of what was once Palestine) between the Jews and the Arabs. The Jews agreed to the plan, while the Palestinians rejected it. Israel decided to go ahead and make her country in her portion - at which point the surrounding Arab nations declared war on her and told the Arabs to leave their villages so that they could destroy Israel and then they would come back. However, their plans were thwarted and Israel won. Israel was set up, and the land that is now called The West Bank, was part of Jordan. The refugees lived in Jordan between 1948-1967 -and were not resettled or taken care of by any of their Arab bretheren nations. In 1967 that land fell in Israel's hands in another war that was waged against Israel.

And by the way, if we want to talk about massacres in history - there are many stories of Jews who were massacred by their arab neighbors even before independence. Hebron was once a JEWISH community and the people there were massacred. That's why it is Arab today. And on and on.

And your accusations of Israel doing this for oil are ludicrous. Citizens in Israel are dying every day from suicide bombers attacks. Nowhere is safe - isn't that enough of a reason to try and dismantle terrorism?

But all this is a waste of our time - who is more at fault. What we really should be focusing on is what is the solution - how can we make a peaceful, secure land for all the inhabitants - Jew, Arab, Christian, Muslim, Budhist, Druze, Bedouin - whoever!

So please, if you really care about the palestinians and not about angry politics - help add to the healing energy that will bring peace by looking for solutions and not looking for who to blame.

homicide bombers do nothing but harm. they are ignorance incarnate. the world must succeed in putting radical islam into history books and out of oxygen.

i believe israel should clamp down a border buffer zone wherein none but jews should live. and palestinians back to the winds that brought them from wherever they did come.

its not to fantastic an idea. its not harsh or out of line. untill iraqis or saudis or whomever decides to put a army against israel, they will need some time of no strife, no palestinians, to build adequate defenses.

to stop treating your neighbors in ways that make them want to kill you? Wouldn't you be safer with a layer or two of friends around you than you are surrounded by enemies?
