A modest proposal for resolving the Israli Palestinian Conflict

by PiratePrentice
Let Sharon duke it out Mano el Mano with Arafat
Winner take All. Israel and Palestine. Give the loser Bavaria a consolation prize.

How about nuking the entire area? With no one alive and the land contaminated, nobody will be contesting it anymore. =)
Same for Northern Ireland.

I'm not seriously calling for this but sometimes it seems the only solution to this kind of misery humans inflict on one another.

Smash Israel.

The Jews are by the Torah a people in exile... and the ZIonist experiment in Palestine shows this to be true. Let's smash Israel for the good of all peoples.

Yes. I agree. We need to kill the jews immediately.

FACT: Israeli military reaction has been one of incomparable restraint. After the brutal lynching of two Israelis in Ramallah, Israel limited its response to bombing one floor of the headquarters of the negligent Ramallah police, the radio station that had been broadcasting incitement to violence, and two targets in Gaza. Israelis gave a 3-hour warning, to allow Palestinians to evacuate; indeed, no one was killed. Similarly, following the recent torching of an ancient synagogue in Jericho, Israel's only response was to bomb a military training school.

On the front lines of this "intifada," Israeli soldiers have orders not to shoot unless they are in direct danger. Israeli soldiers are told never shoot at an ambulance or at women. Unless the Palestinians begin shooting first with live bullets, Israeli soldiers are instructed never to shoot to kill, and then, to aim only at the source of the shooting, never randomly. No other army has such restrained orders.

As the world decries the 100 Palestinian deaths, no one stops to ask how many would be dead if Israeli forces were actually doing what they are accused of -- shooting indiscriminately into crowds with automatic weapons. If that were the case, many thousands of Palestinians would be dead.

But what about Palestinians youth who have been tragically killed in the fighting?

What kind of parent encourages children to go to the front lines to throw stones and firebombs at armed troops?! Palestinians know that Israelis are reluctant to shoot at children; and if a child does wind up getting killed, it makes for excellent anti-Israel propaganda.

Children are taught in school the heroics of dying as a martyr for the Palestinian cause. The Jerusalem Post reported that the Palestinian Authority is encouraging children to participate in clashes by offering their families $300 per injury and $2,000 for anyone killed. How tragic that Palestinians send their children at risk of death and then cynically use this against Israel in the court of world opinion.

But perhaps Israel should not be using force at all to stop the violence?

The BBC recently asked a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council if Arafat truly had the power to stop the mob violence. He replied that it probably could not be done without exerting fatal force on the rioters. Given that reality, how can the world possibly expect Israel to stop the violence without such force?

It is the duty of any government to protect its citizens from violence. Imagine what the response would be if this violence was occurring to any other country. When the British tried to control the last Palestinian intifada, the Arab revolt of 1936-1939, entire villages were burned and more than 3,000 Palestinians were killed.

During "Black September" when Palestinians rioted in Jordan in the 1970s, King Hussein massacred 2,500 Palestinians in 10 days. Likewise, Syrian President Assad slaughtered 20,000 of his own people during civil unrest in Hama, then paved over the dead -- a toll that the Israel intifada would need 100 years to match.

I agree on the hate speech, but to be true to this you must also stop blaming the violence on the Palestinians. With regards to the above -- please recall that when one is under house arrest and the police stations are being bombed by the IDF it is obvious Arafat is not going to be able to do anything.

Withdrawal of the IDF fromt he Palestinian territories is a first step to peace. A second would be a demilitarization of Israeli and Palestinian cultures.

They are defending themselves against Zionist aggression that dates back decades. The Zionists started it. Their victims will finish it.

if your gonna pick sides and form an opinion do the proper research before you open your mouth. the isralies and palestines are both the same people. the palistines, right or wrong was the ones banished from isreal if your gonna take information from the coran at least take a look at the bible to youd be surprised at how similar the two are. its really the same story told from two different points of view one from inside the house one from the outside there different yes but they both explain and describe the same thing. just stop and think for a moment what if ala and god were the same person? i belive there is 1 supreme being no matter what you call him and the bottom line is no matter what you call him he dosent belive in killing in his name BOTTOM LINE!! the problem is influental people who distort the teachings of our "supreme being" or "creator" if you will, take the teachings and words from the bible or coran an twist them to there interests its been happining for years from the catholics right down to usama him self and people are rasied as children to hate and belive these influintial people. religion isnt the problem its the people who are in it only for there own benifit nad every last cntry, person, leader even the unites states is guilty of that and that my people IS THE PROBLEM. educate yourselves and then form an opionion. dont be so quick to belive everything your told even if youve been hearing it all your life not everthing is what it seems. and 1 more thing the government that rules the US is not squeaky clean they are just as guilty as the rest and the american people are left out in the dark as much as the rest of the world but before you say anyhting about the people there go there for yourself and then see what you think most who do see the truth and never leave there is no reason for the isreali conflict and there is no reason for war i do not hate the afghans or the palestines or the isrealis or any terrorist for that matter because everyone in the world is guilty of terrorisom. for being such intelligent creatures our ignorance will be our downfall. Get rid of the imaginary lines, there is no such thing as raciscm untill we segregate ourselves and that is doing nothing but hindering mankind as a whole. violence does nothing but set us back as a whole and the problem is none is goin to see it like that because there to busy drawing lines, saying im this so i stay here and you that so you belong there. we as humans set ourselves back we all need to grow up and start looking at the big picture before its to late. belive me i can go on for days if you have sumthin to say regarding this let me now im always open for a godd debate especially one so important, the most important, the thing that will affect me an you today and our children tomorrow.we as peopple are strong but weve let to many of the wrong people into power and letting them take over the world or atleast try to do what they can for there own personal gains while leaving the rest of us to drown in our own ignorance if we dont realize this and do something about it soon. I just hope its not to late. and whoever it is you belive in may they bless you and help us all
