On April 6th, many thousands of people came to the Westwood Federal Building in L.A. to show their solidarity with the Palestinian people. I took this Photograph of signs held aloft in the crowd. The cartoon figure of the little boy with his back to the viewer is by the famous Palestinian Cartoonist, Naji al-Ali. The Artist named his character, Hanzala... which means "bitterness." Hanzala appeared in many of Naji al-Ali's cartoons, and the figure represents the Palestinian people as a witness to a cruel history. Naji al-Ali was assassinated on July 23rd, 1987 in London... but his Artworks live on. To read about Naji al-Ali and to see more of his works, visit:

I created the Poster of the Palestinian wearing a kaffiya back in 1982. My Silkscreen Poster is named "Sabra" after the thousand or more innocent Palestinian civilians that were massacred in the Sabra refugee camp in Lebanon. Today, Sharon is overseeing another war against the Palestinians, and sadly, my Poster is just as relevant today as it was in 1982.
