Dear Brothers & Sisters in OCAP:
We, the members of the Campaign for Renters Rights here in Oakland CA, would like to give our fullest support to the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty (OCAP) and stand in solidarity with the brothers and sisters who are being threatened with prison for having fought against the attacks of the Ontario Provincial government and of global capitalism. Whenever the representatives of global capitalism put people out of a home, cut wages, eliminate jobs, eliminate protections to the environment -- this is just considered the "free market". But when people seriously resist these attacks, then they are considered violent criminals or terrorists.
By the same token, the advocates of global capitalism claim to be totally in favor of "open borders", until it comes time for workers to exchange information and support one another. When this happens, we see people barred from entering countries where the representatives of global capitalism are meeting. In this same light, we protest against the barring of OCAP
organizer John Clarke from entry into the United States.
We will be making the attacks on OCAP and the OCAP members known throughout this area and will be encouraging people to learn the lessons of your
struggle, which is our struggle also.
Fight to win!
In Solidarity,
John Reimann
