Humboldt Tree-Sits evolve!

by duff
Earth First has developed some of the most sophisticated tree-sits in history, this new design uses fir poles from slash piles to make support "ribs" for tree platforms tied on with ropes & webbing, scavenged plywood and other scraps will then be screwed on top. Save the Old Growth!! Come to Grizzly Creek!

how safe is this? can a 230lb. man be secure up there. what's up duff?? is there still time to go up there?
by Al
The person in this picture is working with others to build a platorm. She is hanging in a harness attached to a climbing rope and balancing on the frame. It would be safe for a 250lb man for a little while. But it would be pushing the limits as far as wear and tear.
by Dew Prizm
The platform is now finished and completely safe. People have been occupying this sit for three and a half months with visitors from as far away as Quebec. Super exhilerating experience! This sit is protecting the largest tree on the mountain where our friend was murdered by an angry logger in 1998.

I admire your courage and conviction holding the tree sits and holding the loggers at bay,

wishing is for suckers! you are no sucker. more like a healer and a warrior. a good woman at least!! so, my simple advice is to pray and when you are inspired to do so, come and play up in the canopy again. We LOVE you and miss your kind and wild spirit out here in the free state of Gypsy mountain. dream and work.
