A PROPOSITION TO BAN OLD-GROWTH LOGGING
The Campaign for Old-Growth is working to place an initiative on the November, 2002 statewide ballot calling for the preservation of old-growth trees on non-federally owned forestland in the State of California.
HELP SAVE CALIFORNIA'S REMAINING ANCIENT FORESTS!
Ancient trees, some over 16 feet in diameter, are still falling to the chainsaw daily. Unless we take action immediately, we will lose the remaining unprotected old-growth forests in California. The initiative campaign to save California’s last ancient trees is well underway. The Citizens' Campaign for Old-Growth Preservation (CFOG) intends to qualify a statewide ballot initiative that would prevent logging any of California's old-growth trees on non-federal land. 420,000 valid signatures are needed by the end of April 2002 in order to place this historic initiative on the November ballot.
These trees, and the thousands of species that depend on them for survival, are part of our national heritage. By filtering water, they provide the best remaining fish habitat in the state. Visitors are amazed to behold their massive girth. Children stand in awe, while looking at the magnificent cathedral-like canopy overhead. You can ensure there will be something left for them to see. Please join Julia Butterfly Hill, Ralph Nader, and thousands of concerned California citizens to preserve our last remaining old-growth trees for future generations!

§I support this!
Excellent idea! The more time and money you waste on lobbying, the more trees I can cut down and profit off of! Pass as many laws as you want, we can always out-bribe you! If all that energy went into really opposing our industry and what makes our industry possible, well, just forget about that.
