I don't think children should use cannabis recreationally or otherwise (exceptions might be a very sick, young cancer patient, etc.).

marijuana has been PROVEN over and over again to be of medical merit, to ease pain and side effects from AIDS and cancer treatments.These recent raids are not on 'drug dealers' but on medical facilites working within their legal rights. Its like a hospital getting raided because it holds substances that are thought to be dangerous (and most hospitals do use substances and medicines far more dangerous -even lethal - than the harmless herb that for some reason has such a bad reputation) whoever decided that marijuana was a drug was a strange person. IT is a harmless plant with many more redeeming qualities than harmful ones. maybe its time that people like you (Joe, above) started to learn a little more about drugs and learnt the difference between pot and crack...there is a HUGE one, the word "drugs" is so misunderstood.
Isnt it time that we embraced the natural resources we have for these horrible ailments instead of criminalized them. And dont the feds have more important things to do right now???

I've seen first hand aids and cancer patients using pot to relieve their pain and regain their appetite, and stay ALIVE a little longer. I have given service to them at this club and watched them take their medication in a SAFE supportive environment. I have also seen what happens to them when the clubs close. Some of them die sooner and and in a lot more pain. In addition to being a medical cannabis dispensary we offered other support services for the sick and homeless. I AM NOT a pot smoker, and I fully support the decriminalization of medical cannabis.
If pot is outlawed, only outlaws will have pot. We will be making criminals of the sick, homeless, and terminally ill. Is THIS America?

The logic stated by most of you in favor of legalizing drugs makes me wonder if you're stoned right now. Cannabis Clubs get raided because they have been shown time and again to act as fronts for much broader illegal drug distribution. If you really support pot smoking only for those who are ill from AIDS or cancer, then fight to have it distributed only by doctor prescription in a very controlled environment that is open to scrutiny by law enforcement. Most of you won't, because you're really in favor of general legalization and not just medical legalization. Which is sad, because the people who suffer the most because of your stance are the terminally ill patients.

Marijuana was legalized in Alaska for a time back in the 1970's. Guess what happened? Pot usage as well as usage of other illegal drugs increased in children aged 10 - 16 by almost 50% during that time. The state finally outlawed pot again when they determined the detriment it was having on society. If you're going to advocate legalizing drug usage, at least understand what you're really asking for.

Let's take the hypothetical example of a state that was home to 50,000,000 children aged 10-16 *during* a time of legalization, and 4 children age 10-16 used pot *before* "that time" of legalization, and *during* "that time" of legalization the number increased to 6. That would be a 50% increase, no?

As a dear friend of the Rosenthal family, I am appalled at the treatment Ed Rosenthal is receiving from DEA administrator Asa Hutchinson. Rosenthal is being treated like a common criminal. It is apparent to me, and hopefully any jury that Rosenthal is a victim of Hutchinson's attempts to censure the states rights to legalize medical marijuana use. The federal government should be concerned with national safety while we are at war against terrorism. Instead we are waging war against the deathly ill and those, like Ed Rosenthal that helped them.

okay...here's the deal. I AM in fact, an ex-smoker of MJ. i started smoking buds when i was 13. why? i did it at first cause i though it'd make me "cool" hanging out with all my older buddies. sure, i was cool...in fact, i was freggin RAD cause i smoked buds. i was so kick ass, that all the teachers loved me, all the people at school loved me, my parent's loved me, and all my freinds' parents loved me too. whenever i smoked buds, i'd get 100%'s all the time on my tests, i could function better as a person, and people just liked me more. it helped me to decide right from wrong (hell, we all know better than to break into houses to steal crap so we could sell it at the age of 14 just to buy another QP, right?) and guided me in life. and jesus....if it weren't for buds, drugs, and alchohol, i might not have made it to 15 before i finally got locked up for a year. if it weren't for those helpful guiding tools in my life, i might have landed my straight A ass in jail at the age of 10!
