The link made between domestic drug use and terrorism.

by Gluckspilz Bensa (theantidrug [at] hotmail.com)
A reaction to the ONDCP's recent ad campaign linking domestic drug use and terrorism.
A site has been created to protest the recent ad campaign created by the White House's Office of National Drug Control Policy. The ad campaign makes the laughable claim that domestic drug use is partly responsible for terrorist actions. The site can be viewed at

It is definately true that illegal drug money helps to fund terrorist groups, ranging from FARC (the last armed communist insurgency in the Americas) to Al Qaeada.

But why? Because of increased profits due to the et distortions of the global War on Drugs. Growing poppies is not a high-tech business. Nor would it be a high-profit business, if it wasn't for the "Big Brother / Big Government" approach to the medical problem of drug addicttion.

As my buddy Adam Smith said: "The uniform, constant and uninterrupted effort of every man to better his condition, the principle from which public and national, as well as private opulence is originally derived, is frequently powerful enough to maintain the natural progress of things toward improvement, in spite both of the extravagance of government, and of the greatest errors of administration." Even if those errors are the global Drug War.

If we truly believe in freedom, we should believe in the freedom of self-medication. If we truly believe in free trade, we should believe in free trade of drugs. If we truly believe in capitalism, we should believe in big businesses running drug companies, instead of terrorists or communist insurgencies.

Ridge here. You were doing so well until you decided to question the War on Drugs. What are you, some kind of junkie? I know I am. But like everyone else here at the White House, I'm addicted to legal stuff, like Marlboros, Xanax, Scotch; and Elmer's glue. We've got to support the corporations that get us into these wars!

Ooh, wait a minute....

Rummy just told me the CIA controls most of the drug trade ("so we win either way," he said. "HAHA HA HA HA HA!"). So never mind my above post about the War on Drugs. As long as you're defending the profit motive, the Office of Homeland Security considers you part of the home team. Besides, W. needs a steady supply of his "white powder, " if you catch my DRIFT. When he gets together with Mary Matlin and Karl every afternoon, the top of his desk looks like Tora Bora after a blizzard!

Sorry for any misunderstanding, fred! Keep up the great work!
