Dennis: Last night Bush talked about the 'New Evil Access' and the 'Liberation of Afghanistan', what?.. now with Tariq Ali of Verso Press.. Mr Ali: we slept through it.. but heard it on the radio this morning.. ominous.. the situation in Afghanistan will unravel without massive dollar aid.. Americans with their short memory will have forgotten about Afghanistan by then.. Bush linking North Korea, Iran, and Iraq.. what?.. these states have very little in common.. North Korea brought into the picture, only to distract from the Bush crusade against Islam.. It means very little, are they going to attack Iran? the height of foolishness.. If US does the same to Iraq or Iran the same as they have done to Afghanistan.. the region will explode ..the Enron scandal engulfing the Bush regime and Britain too.. Enron scandal one of the more grotesque examples of capitalism in the modern era.. Dennis: street battles in Afghanistan.. Mr Ali: the overthrow of the Taliban hardly surprised anyone.. once Pakistan withdrew its support.. Taliban didn't even fight back.. the US imposed its own regime.. the aim is clear.. unless the west spends billions to rebuild Afghanistan.. it will collapse.. Dennis: Enron affects England? Mr Ali: everyone here is talking about it.. in Britain, Enron had close contact with the new Labor government.. money changed hands.. Dennis: How did Enron do it? now with investigative journalist, Lucy Commissar.. about Enron exec, Andrew Fastall (sp?) and Osama bin Laden.. Lucy: they use the same corporate tools.. set up accounts without putting your real name on them.. in countries with financial services for criminals.. this wonderful secret financial system.. accountants' so-called "creative accounting".. Enron had 3000 secret partnerships in the Cayman Islands and other places where government investigators can't get to the data.. Dennis: about the Bank Of Criminals And Crooks.. Lucy: run by the brother-in-law of Osama.. CIA admitted drug laundering there.. Dennis: which is the drug money, the terrorist money, the Enron money? Lucy: we can't tell the difference.. also arms running money.. about the genocide in Rwanda.. the UN cut off arms sales to Rwanda.. the arms runners went around the restrictions.. in one case a bank in Switzerland (details).. Lucy: in the 1980's I got very involved in issues involving third world countries.. researching Marcos, Devaliar.. stealing their countrys' money and sending it to Switzerland.. the Swiss bankers in their Armani suits, actually accomplices to crime.. about the Holocaust accounts hidden, stolen by the Swiss.. this issue an astonishly important issue.. ignored by the media.. I was astonished.. it is very difficult to find out.. the money found is the tip of the iceberg.. international crime always involves offshore banking.. Q: how does this secretive system even exist? A: because very powerful people want it to exist.. the banking system wants it to exist.. (Lucy details how this enormously corrupt system works).. legislation to fix this problem blocked by Dick Armey and Phil Graham.. got passed though in the so-called Patriot Act.. but now new legislation by the Republicans want to change it, water it down.. so that "shell banks" can once again move money around the world.. would counter the law that has been passed.. the big question, why would the administration want to support money laundering?? because many administration supporters use offshore banking to hide money.. all because of 'globalization'.. Lucy: Enron should be required to present all information about all their offshore accounts.. with names.. second thing: the US successfully pressed banks for information about Osama, they should use the same pressure to get information about Enron.. to get information about drug trafficers, arms trafficers, dictator's stolen money.. AND FINALLY ABOLISH THE SECRET BANKING SYSTEM.. Dennis: you are published in Pacific News Service

Molly: the spectacle is normal.. the tradition of introducing heroes and good guysc, normal.. the big applause for Bush is because he is very popular right now (80% approval ratings).. Bush's daddy's popularity was at 90% though after the Gulf War, but he lost the subsequent election.. I thought Bush's address a little surreal.. I went "what?".. attack North Korea? North Korea has nothing to do with Al-Qaeda.. his package of tax cuts for companies like Enron.. what? the shredding machines barely cooled down at Enron, Bush wanting to give them multi-million dollar tax refunds.. people in Texas are shell-shocked.. Enron a paradigm for everything wrong with the system.. Ken Lay has been George W's biggest contributor.. Bush got a half million dollars when his little energy company when broke.. Noelle: the press not asking for Bush's evidence against North Korea, Iran, and Iraq.. Molly: Bush saying we're going to have this 'New Freedom' Core.. Noelle: since 9/11, the non-profit world.. Molly: has been absolutely devastated.. regular contributions to charity way down.. plus the economy tanking.. just devastating.. the numbers from New York pretty scarey.. many people coming to their end of welfare.. no welfare, no jobs.. more people on the streets.. and a lot of people on welfare were already incapable of working, with mental or physical problems.. Noelle: you are battling breast cancer.. Molly: I hope it has made me a better person.. once I started to feel better, a lot became clearer to me about how I wanted to spend my time.. to do things that really matter.. I've always wanted go to France.. and learn to play the piano.. Noelle: breast cancer an epidemic.. one in seven women affected in Marin Counry, CA.. Molly: I'm sure *they* are going to crack this eventually.. now first they mutilate you, then poison you, then irradiate you.. but progress is being made.. Noelle: back to Enron.. Molly: a multifacitied story.. offshore banking a huge problem.. Bush cancelled Clinton's push to shut down offshore banking.. and just yesterday a hearing in Washington about how that was going.. once again wealthy Americans using shell banks to hide money.. the idea of voluntary regulation, doesn't work.. doesn't work worth a damn.. Enron stories are all over the place.. useful in bringing financial practices to light.. but under the radar now, *trade issues*.. about fast track authority.. no good..
