MARCH in Solidarity: There will also be a march through Salem to show solidarity with the WEF mass protest in NYC. An important piece of the Oregon Peace Festival is the "Another World IS Possible" March/Rally. This proactive event is being held in Salem, Oregon, to show solidarity with activists from around the world who will be gathering in New York City over the weekend of February 2 to protest the "Profits Before People" mantra of the World Economic Forum. We will start gathering for the march in the Willamette University quad (the open area behind our main venue of Eaton Hall) at 1:30 p.m. At approximately 2:00 p.m., we will begin the 3-block procession to the State Capitol steps. Upon arrival, we will have a few brief speeches, live music and a surprise or two. After an hour, we will march back to Willamette University to continue with the festival.
