Save the Mayor from Bush

Do you know where your Mayor is??? (english)

I was just watching the CNN feed the station I work for records, and watched Bu$h convince YOUR mayor to be a player in the War on Logic...
Bu$h was at it again this morning, addressing Mayors from across America, fighting the domestic emotional front of his war.

He called the Mayors "America's most accountable elected officials"

Perhaps he said this because that definitely excludes him?

"Government that's close to the People governs best. You know this first hand. I call you practical. Heh heh heh."

Then he flashed that creepy grin he gets whenever he says the word "evil" or "justice". And he would know this because ... ?

He said that Mayors are responsible for first response in the event of a terrorist attack.

"I say terrorist attack ... because we're still under attack. These are evil people," (There's that grin again) "relentless in their efforts to hurt people who love freedom. We are the world's brightest beacon of freedom, so they want to hurt us."

Why does no-one question him on this? It's blatant bullsh*t, and defies all logic. No-one hates freedom, except maybe for our society, which loves its enslavement like none other.

If America is the brightest beacon of freedom and democracy, and he regards accountability as such a virtue, why does his Administration not have to respond to any of our questions surrounding "the events of September eleventh"? Our arguments are sure a lot more compelling than "Classified, in the name of national security", which, for all I know, is the same as "American interests", which are the financial interests of the ruling Elite.

Why does no-one ask what those interests are? (I know, the media's owned. I'm just saying...)

Why not allow the "evidence" to come out, if it's so damning. We must prove guilt "beyond a reasonable doubt" before we send a man to prison, but we can condemn 4200 innocent men, women, and children to a horrible and painful death, not to mention countless soldiers (unlawful combatants, semantics), based on the words of powerful men in the ruling Elite? This does not fly. This is not democracy.

If they're going to use words such as "freedom" and "democracy", then they have the responsibility to back up those words with actions. We must take them to task on this, and DEMAND that they provide answers, fill in the gaps, and DEBATE their assertions against ours, in front of the People. After all, they work for us ... right? Who pays the bills?

Bu$h went on to thank "moms, dads, and children, who have made great sacrifices for America." Although I wish it to be so, I know he wasn't referring to the 4200+ innocent Aghans killed by U$ bombs.

He named FEMA the lead agency in the event of a terrorist attack. (Doesn't FEMA already hold that role when EMERGENCIES arise?) Surely this new "appointment" is accompanied by sweeping new powers and a new budget.

He bashed "Partisanship", which is basically, the resistance to a dictatorship, under one party. Look, I agree that a lot of politics is pointless bickering, but we lack any effective opposition from a second party, and therein lies our problem. The Elite has united against us, and is unchallenged. If we cannot trust our Government to fight for us, then we must fight for ourselves.

"We have no choice. We must respond to this moment in history." - But he didn't mention that we have a choice in HOW we respond to this "moment in history". Nothing is etched in stone, and Bu$h is just a guy, who makes funny faces on the toilet (as well as TV) from time to time. We can resist him when he's wrong. That's not being "unpatriotic".

"We got a lotta work to do, but that's how I got elected. Heh, heh, heh. (Laughter, applause)" This part didn't really make sense. It just felt creepy, like he was giving the People the finger. Then he flashed that strange, evil look about the room, as if to say "Look at how cool I am! Look how stupid they are. If they only knew..."

"Good homeland defense means our cities are vibrant." Really? So Martha Stewart is a warrior? Hmm...

"We must develop "brown fields".

Two weeks ago, Bu$h passed a bill which would allow federal money for developing "Brown Fields", vacant, ugly plots of land in the inner city. The bill starts with a clause that lets companies off the hook for creating these "Brown Fields" in the first place, for abandoning the land, leaving empty structures and waste behind.

Then he went on about faith-based initiatives, and then the feed was cut off.

If Hitler had smiled more, would he have won? He did talk about God quite a bit, too. According to "The Rise of the Fourth Reich", Hitler did very little that was evil. The true acts of evil were committed by German citizens, who were too afraid to question whether or not what their government told them was true.

Yesterday, Bu$h addressed the military, got a bit ornery, and shouted, swinging his arms. Looked a little more like Der Fuhrer in front of that crowd ...

"If you want to fight evil, you must do some good." Hey, Dubya's on our side now?

Keep fighting the good fight.

You are the majority, and truth is on your side. The only way you can fail, is if you fail to act.

P E A C E brothers and sisters...

We shall taste victory

MY POINT? (english)
by Jordan Thornton 9:34am Thu Jan 24 '02

Well, here goes my credibility...

The point to this post, was to urge you to contact your local mayors, and undo the damage Bu$h's words have done.

Ask them about "American interests", and share our evidence with them. Make your case.

If necessary, gather in NOISY protest, or occupy offices, etc. Take some action.

Remember, this is the Government that is supposedly "close to the People". We are the People. Use your voice.
