Please help this vision become reality...

by Shunka (shunka_2002 [at] yahoo.com)
With the participation of a mere 6,000 people, we could protect hundreds of acres of land per year...help us out and pass this along!
Hey! I have an idea...
If we can create a pool of just 6,000 people, who would be willing to part with just $10 of their hard-earned cash, then we could create hundreds of acres of land trusts, and entrust the land back to the indigenous people of this Earth. The land would be entrusted to the Benaly family, the Harney family, the Peltier family, the Looking Horse family, and back to the indigenous people of the area in which the land is bought.
This will keep the land from falling into the hands of the B.I.A. or corrupt councils who might try to develop it or capitalize off of the land in some way.
The land would be fully protected against logging, mining, and commercial development, and would be used as ceremonial grounds, organic farming grounds, and non-violence/forest defense training grounds.
Just imagine...there are 17,000 people here in Arcata, CA, and millions of people in California and the U.S. alone...if we can just get a pool of 6,000 people who would be willing to send $10, say, four times a year, then we could start buying up hundreds of acres to preserve and protect:)
Just treat this like a chain letter, send $10 and your e-mail address to me, and I will send you a copy of the land trust document and some pictures, as soon as we get the first plot of land, and we can truly subvert the shitstem, create places for us to live outside of the cities, and give something back to the indigenous people of this land.
We already have $4110 towards the first plot of land, so let's keep on going!
Please meditate a while on this vision...
P.S. A little bit about myself, in case you're wondering...I have been a forest activist for the past three years in Humboldt County, California, witnessed the murder of activist David "Gypsy" Chain, was a member of Julia "Butterfly" Hill's Luna ground support team, helped shut down the WTO meeting in '99, have been sweating and doing ceremonies with the Native American Church for the past three years, attended the IMF/World Bank protest in 2000, participated in the Hole in the Headwaters and the Mattole Free State campaigns, and am currently involved in fighting Maxxam's SLAPP suit against forest defenders, while working on all kinds of social, environmental, and peace campaigns...so, that's me, and I hope that 6,000 of you can trust a guy with a record like that:)
Haribol!

if every peace loving person in the world would just send me $6.00, I could finally buy that BMW I've always wanted. I have mind merged with all oppressed people's everywhere-Native Americans, Unitarians, Vulcans--and look forward to receiving your donations so I can evolve into the next stage of material consciousness, as defined by my W4. May the peace of the Great Mother Earth Wind be with you all.

Energy would have been better spent telling specifics on what is going on in the northcoast. How many THP's are on the chopping block? What areas need to be ground truthed? I'm not interested in sustaining some drug hippie culture. Facts and relevant actions that can be taken are more useful than pleas for money to support some woo woo idealogy. There were six other witnesses to Gypsy's murder. There were thousands of others in Seattle shutting down the WTO. There were hundreds who helped publicize the Luna tree-sit. I'd like to know why it was that Harper Collins published that god awful book slamming the old NCEF! I'd like to know why Harper Collins censors it's authors who have written comprehensive books on the Rockefeller families and their genocidal ways. I'd like to take action on a timber clearcut that is happening next month. Those six thousand people didn't show up on some ideological wishes. There was major grounded organizing that went into those ralleys. Long days spent grounded in reality, not some ideological pipe dream. Get a job and raise the funds and donate the land yourself. Using the NCEF! work of years past for some ideological pipe dream isn't fair to those who have had their shit together enough to build momentum to fight the ecological destroyers. Get grounded back in reality. You had the chance to protest Mr Hurwitz last time he was in town and you let a tripping fool talk you out of it. What's up with that?
by been there
yeah, maybe i should give you my car. so far you and your girl friend, julia, who took off with all the money donated to her forest defense, haven't protected a thing! go ask for money from e.f. and see where that gets you! what has anyone done?
by Shunka (shunka_2002 [at] yahoo.com)
You can keep your cars, I sold my van years ago, so that I would not be directly contributing to blood for oil.
This is not a "pipe dream", this is a vision, and an example of the great things that we could do if we could all come together.
Why is buying land for all the people to gather on, grow organic food, have ceremonies on, and live together on the Earth on, such a bad idea?
Why do activists stab other activists in the back? Or in the heart? No wonder the trees are still falling...sad...
This is a grounded vision...it's called get back to the Earth, dig some rows, plant some seeds, and reconnect.
I don't want the money, and I'm not some wacked out drug fiend. Earth medicines are sacred. The idea is to free the land by buying it, and doing it in a way that doesn't require anyone to slave away for Babylon for years...anyone can table up $10, and, if 6,000 people sent $10, we could start organic farms all over the world, simply by networking.
I'm hardly around computers nowadays, so I have to make the most of my time, and I'm interested in large-scale revolution, so forgive me for keeping the roundtable meeting sacred, too. It was great, by the way.
My good friend, who someone ignorantly called the "tripping fool," actually helped to break the La Tigressa spell, and helped to save us all from getting beaten up and arrested that morning (we discovered that there were plans to "crack some heads"), and did show up-unarrested, in the rain, with drums, chants, and songs, while Hurwitz was in town, and he saw us, just before the Masonic Lodge workers lowered the curtain down on us. I was glad that we didn't allow the local corporate media to slander us, by giving Hurwitz a big fanfare on his way in to the party. We waited until they all had a buzz on and their bellies full, and then slipped in and surprised them all, and we were all together, as a Humboldt family, without I Digressa there to twist things around. Who's the fed?!?!
There are those who bring medicine to the circle, and those who bring poison...learn to discern...Aho!

I talked to Julia, and she said that she would donate $30,000.00 to your cause! good luck!
by skeptical
I'm wondering if that being skeptical and asking Questions about this project, is going to label me as sad or a back stabber. Am I suppose to just blindly follow you and send you money. What if this project doesn't work out, will you send the over $4000. back to those who donated it?
by Trisha (medicinewomsn50 [at] yahoo.com)
Has anyone asked any of these families if they want this or any other land? I am native and there isn't anyone asking me if I want some land to live and practice my beliefs on. I farm organically, and live as organically as I possibly can. I don't have 5 cants to spare, I wish I did. besides if /when I have spare change it goes to the LPDC. Why don't you help him too!!
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
