Responding to American secretary of state Powell’s statements

It is a shame to humanity to hear American secretary of state Collin Powell urging chairman Arafat to move against the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, saying, “I believe that the Palestinian chairman is capable to exert more efforts than what he has done so far and he has to handle Hamas”, pointing out that Arafat had thousands of armed elements capable of attacking Hamas.

We in the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, strongly denounce such black hatred and declare the following:

1-Those statements reflect America’s keenness on igniting a Palestinian civil war in service of the Zionists who are practicing the harshest form of murder, oppression and terrorism against our unarmed Palestinian people whose sole crime is seeking to win liberation and independence. We affirm that such a cheap attempt would not succeed and that the Hamas Movement would always remain keen on unity of our Palestinian people in face of the atrocious Zionist aggression.

2-Inviting the Palestinian Authority to attack Hamas is an evil call for killing members of the Islamic Movements. This clearly indicates that the current American campaign is a spiteful crusade against Islam. We affirm that this campaign against Islam will not achieve its mean goals. Islam will defeat the black spiteful crusade, God willing, and America will never rejoice for seeing Palestinian blood being shed by Palestinian hands.

3-Those statements point to America’s partnership in the Zionist enemy’s aggression against our people. They constitute a blatant backing of occupation and the policies of assassination and of murder of innocent children, the elderly and women. We would like to affirm that Muslim blood is not cheap and will never be so. The Islamic Resistance Movement will not remain arms folded in face of the Zionist aggression and it will not stop resistance until ejection of occupation and return of displaced Palestinians to their country to establish their own state on their national soil.

4-Such statements indicate that America wishes to ignite fires in each and every Islamic area and that Palestine tops the list of that criminal scheme with the aim of protecting the Zionist entity and its security at the expense of the Palestinian people and their freedom, future and holy shrines. The Hamas Movement calls on our Arab and Islamic Ummah to confront such a brutal campaign before it is too late through uniting their stands, shunning differences and drawing necessary plans to confront the hateful American scheme.

5-The Zionist entity is exploiting those statements to shed more Palestinian blood and to escalate its ferocious offensive against our unarmed people. Hamas realizes that America’s statements give terrorist Sharon the green light to exercise the cruelest form of terrorism against our Palestinian people to force their acceptance of Zionist dictates. It also realizes that our people will never kneel down before Zionist dictates. We have great hopes that the PA would not respond to those detestable American calls and pressures out of keenness on our people’s unity and strength in face of the American conspiracies to liquidate the Palestine cause and our people’s future. Those conspiracies aim at consolidating the Zionist presence on the land of Islamic Palestine.

And it is a Jihad until either victory or martyrdom
