Israeli troop buildup in the north.

It is being reported that there is a buildup os Israeli tanks and other armored vehicles in the north of Israel. They are surrounding towns suspected of harboring "terrorists". Sharon may ask the Bush administration to support a full scale war to eliminate Palestinian "aggression." This report is matched with a report stating that Israel in at the highest state of alert since the intifada began over a year ago. Reservists are being activated.

Authors note: Given the amount of aggression from the US along with the saber rattling pointed at Iraq this is a very volatile situation. Any act of defensive buildup by Iraq could be viewed as an act of aggression and create a pretext for US involvement.

§In the NORTH ???

There's something garbbled about this report. In the "North of Israel" there aren't any areas that have been returned to Palestinian control.

An Israeli buildup there might forebode actions in Sothern Lebanon or the Golan, maybe even a strike East into Northern Jordan, but couldn't be for surrounding Palestinian towns (pretty much non-existent in the Galil).

Could the submitter of the original article get back with a more precise geographic description?

well i live in israel there was a build up of armored viachels and some thanks there srounding the palestinian eareas but the withdraw but im sure good dam sharon will bring it back well jurdan is our ally since 1993 so we arn't planning a strike there no man in israel wants war we gonna do a mess if there will bw a war overthrow the govrenment and do some good things insted of bombing people we need i mean in israel to help the home less and the jobless insted of playing generals

but there also the need of socurety u see there are a lot of terror groups but most are ordannery people getting hurt by our force who intend to hit terrorist (mybe seviliance some time good know what crazy sharon wants )but the trorrist some time hide in seviliance buildings any way 2 countries must be made decleared or what ever one for the jews one for the palestains with freindly relation
