by Kurt
"Unlike the surface-based temperatures, global temperature measurements of the Earth's lower atmosphere obtained from satellites reveal no definitive warming trend over the past two decades. "
So what's the deal guys?

Um...in case no one has noticed...
We don't live on space stations, satellites, or in the upper atmosphere. We live on the surface. So...
Isn't it rational to base our conclusions on what we have to live with???

Whether or not your particular part of the world is currently "warmer" is beside the point. Weather systems and regional climate patterns are changing, and often becoming more violent. That's the whole idea that people try to discuss with catch phrases these days. It's easy to argue in circles about "warmer" vs "cooler" since they are relative concepts, ie. everyone has their own opinion about what constitutes warm or cold, and normal fluctuations thereof. I don't know who decided to use "warming" to describe the phenomenon of climatic patterns in turmoil, but it wasn't the brightest idea--reducing scientific findings to buzz words? Really now.
