POLL SHOWS PUBLIC POWER HAS 60% SUPPORT IN SAN FRANCISCO

Once again, San Francisco has an election fraud crisis. It is easy to blame it on election fraud-Willie Brown who sits in the mayor's office with 40% of the vote plus election fraud. The reality is, there is not enough public protest about the election fraud crisis in San Francisco. David Binder stated his poll showed that public power has 60% support in San Francisco, a resounding endorsement of public power. This is described in the Bay Guardian's online story at: http://www.sfbg.com/News/36/06/06bind.html Thus, any defeat of any public power measure can only occur through election fraud.

There are some 15,000 ballots to be counted after one full day after the election with a short ballot by San Francisco standards, using a computerized ballot tabulating system. The elections department stated that because there had been an anthrax scare a few weeks ago at City Hall, the absentee ballots which had arrived in the mail were moved to the Civic Auditorium and Pier 29 to be counted. This was stated to be a preventative measure, as no anthrax was suspected in these ballots.

Former supervisor Angela Alioto, one of the primary organizers of the public power ballot measures, stated in the San Francisco Chronicle of 11/7/01: "Explain to me what the emergency is. There were no security guards in any of the rooms. There was no check-in, which is totally out of the chain of custody. There is the potential to invalidate the entire election." See: http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2001/11/07/MN104407.DTL

Further, in the same article, Supervisor Aaron Peskin wanted to know why the opening of the envelopes with the absentee ballots was not open to public viewing. This is the point where election fraud can easily be committed.

The Chronicle had a more detailed article on the uproar over the moved ballots in another article: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/news/archive/2001/11/07/state1634EST0098.DTL

WE NEED ACTION NOW
1. Everyone who can must go to City Hall TODAY and demand to watch the opening of the envelopes containing our absentee ballots as well as the rest of the vote-counting process. Spend whatever time you have available to do this.

2. Picket City Hall to Stop Election Fraud

If you cannot watch this entire process, including the crucial envelope-opening, picket City Hall to demand the end of election fraud in San Francisco. Remember, election fraud is fascism and an election fraud team is a strike-breaking team. Labor was an integral part of the fight for public power in this election, and in many ways, took the lead. Labor Neighbor provided most of the phone banks and the precinct-walkers, with excellent literature. Labor Neighbor also did a lot of mailings to voters and provided lots of pole signs. This is as much a labor issue as it is a political crisis.

3. Call, write and/or E-mail all 11 supervisors.
Some of the supervisors have protested; they should all protest. 10 of the
supervisors are Democrats and it is the Democratic Party machine that is committing the election fraud, with Willie Brown in charge of the whole election fraud operation. For more on that election fraud, see http://www.brasscheck.com/stadium

Please call, write or E-mail all 11 supervisors to demand they observe the vote counting process, including the opening of the envelopes. Their phone numbers and address are in the San Francisco phone book's blue-striped white pages and at:
