We didn't need to be fooled by our leaders into believing we were being attacked.

We figured it out when we saw the planes flying into buildings.

Goering was notorious for saying and doing everything to prevent the British and the US from joining into the war-- including statements like the one you posted, designed to abolish the concept of good and evil and disguise Hitler's genocidal "solution" as a relative means of power. If you believed in these words, you would be reticent to stop the Nazi's by way of war, which was their goal.

Fortunately, the thinking Americans saw differently, and put their asses on the line to stop this power hungry maniac.

You mean I've been fooled before?

Anyway, I think there's plenty of proof that's been made public, thank you.

The Al Qaeda organization sponsored Jihad is not about sending flowers to the USA--It's about nuking us if possible. I think we need to stop that attempt no matter who you happen to imagine might have flown those planes into buildings.
by whatever
You have "plenty of proof" of nothing, unless you count the mindless regurgitation of government press releases by corporate media. What is the evidence? There is none. Hell, half the countries around the world are demanding the evidence. Oh, I guess Tony Blair saw it and is convinced. That's good enough for me.

Fact is, if you are approaching with an open mind and the scientific method, there are many hypotheses to test and none of them have been proved. Certainly Mossad, CIA, Colombian organized crime, etc are all legitimate suspects.

Furthermore, if you say that those who support the terrorists are also to blame, you should not be directed to Baghdad, but instead should look inwardly to the CIA, who are the most guilty of arming and funding al-Qaeda and the mujahedeen.

Let me put it this way. If the military-industrial complex wanted to shake up the geopolitical order, shake up the oilpolitical order, and institute draconian police states to suppress the growing anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist worldwide movement, do you think they would care about blowing up a couple thousands Americans?

Ryan, your pathetic blind patriotism is no substitute for inquiry and rationality. You are an idiot.

. . .not to mention your egocentric view that these attacks are part of some conspiracy of a hundred whacko's living in caves attempting to destroy our way of life, and take over a nation of 250 million people. Please. You are just proving the original post correct. The more we personalize this attack, the more we rally behind dubya, and the more atrocities the us. govt and military can get away with. Shit, you can kiss most of your civil liberties goodbye, homey.

This wasn't an attack against American citizens, just like dubya's war isn't against Islam. When you cannot fight your oppressor face to face, you attack your oppressor's achilles heel. We pay our govt reps, ridiculously massive amounts of cash to represent us. When these people make decisions regarding mid-east foreign policy, *WE* make those decisions. When our govt meddles in the mid-east politics, *WE* are meddling in the politics. We are responsible for our govts actions. We were punished for our govts actions. American citizens == American government as far as foreigners are concerned

and am I the only one thinks it is weird that the taliban are shooting back at us with our own out-dated weapons? Is no one else seeing the pattern here?

. . .and ryan, the concepts of "good" and "evil" are relative and subjective. what do you know about "thinking Americans" ? Have you met one before ?

actually, it was the american government that created the situatuion in Germany. Through the Treaty of Versailles, we created a state of utter and complete poverty and chaos in post WWI Germany. The Communist party could not promise stability, nor could the Weimar Democracy. The only other viable option was fascism. In the beginning, The Nationalist Socialist party (Nazi) did not allow their anti-semitic tendencies to be known. Therefore, the Nazi party was elected.

Adolf Hitler was chosen to be the figure head for the government by its true leaders (Hitler was a puppet figure) and a genius mass media campaign was started by Joesph Goebbels (the minister of propaghanda) and Hitler brought his new hope to germany. In the beginning, america fostered this new government and supported it. (as we did with the Taliban) because it was much better than the alternative, the people of germany starving to death.

i once had a wise World History teacher who stated on the second day of class " stop relating EVERYTHING to Nazi germany. we already know that it can be used as an example"
but, in this case (and she agrees) that yes, America has done it again! we have fostered a facist dictatorship, and are surprised when they kill people!

Much love to all,
Nickole

the US government gave more than 6 billion dollars to the Taliban earlier this year.

How much more proof do you want other than planes slamming into buildings and killing 6,000 people?

In your desire to debate the esoterica, have you forgotten what happened on 9/11?

You have a sick humor.

I was in my Advanced Biology Class when I found out.
I sat the rest of the day crying. My best friend worked in the Pentagon.

If you can find some sort of humor out of what happened, you are sick.
by r3dn3ck
Obviously, we don't need proof that an airplane hit the World Trade Center and Pentagon. Do you really think that's what I was saying? If so, you need to read more carefully.

What you *don't* have proof of is who was responsible? Who planned it? Who funded it? Who allowed it to happen? Who ordered it?

All you have is the *word* of a government which has repeatedly lied to its people in the name of conquest and profit. And now, they are bombing the hell out of a country whose civilians CERTAINLY weren't involved in planning, funding, allowing or ordering this to happen. And yet you cheer on.

This is why the Goering quote is so great. He was right; you are the proof.

Wow, jeff, you're really smrrt... I mean smart. Now, just what, again, does Iraq have to do with the planes that hit the buildings in NY and DC? Please tell me. Please? Please!? OBL has publically bashed saddam, calling him an 'infidel' and a 'socialist.' Get your head on, man. Somehow a false connection has been soldered into place in your mind. I know that it's easy to fall into a vengeful bloodlust over the events of 9-11 but don't start lashing out at everyone in the middle east... it makes you look racist...
