by PREVENTIONIST DEBORAH DUPRE\' WHEELER (duprevent [at] sos.com.vu)
LIVE!S.Pa.Violence Prevention in Collaboration with Columbia Univ.Law Students and Global Sisterhood Network petition for IMMEDIATE UN action to ASSERT ITS AUTHORITY for INTERNATIONAL LAW to stop violence related to Sept. 11th and restore peace. Demand Nuremberg Trial style trials NOW!
LIVE!, in collaboration with Global Sisterhood Network and Columbia University law students request you to help us disseminate the following.

The third week of attacks on Afghanistan continues. Violence couldn\'t be stopped by violence. On the contrary, it just causes more violence. The biggest victim is civil population, especially women and children. War is not the destiny of mankind, as militarists and their political allies would like us to believe. Peace is too important to be left to militarists and politicians. ~ WIB

Re: IMMEDIATE Assertion of Security Council Authority to enact International Law

To All Permanent Representatives to the United Nations:

I am alarmed by escalating violence and other abuses violating human rights since the morning of September 11th, 2001. I urge the Security Council to immediately assert its authority in this matter, restore international peace and security through International Law that will bring every person directly or indirectly responsible for the criminal acts related to the morning of September 11th to trial and justice. To proceed without UN Security Council intervention is intolerable. The UN must not abdicate its responsibility to ensure peace and security in the world at these critical moments. I recognize that no country or coalition of countries has legal right to declare war because of criminal acts. I do not support terrorism in any form. My only goal is for peace and justice, globally responsible and lasting solutions to end violence and restore human rights. I urge the UN Security Council and all member states to fully explore the possible judicial responses to the crimes committed on September 11. The use of judicial mechanisms should be a first, not a last option. I now join millions of others from all religious, ethnic, national and political backgrounds in a statement of our outrage at the barbarous and illegal acts related to September 11th, 2001, before and after, by signing this document for immediate enactment of International Law by the UN Security Council.

Sincerely,

NAME TOWN STATE/PROV. COUNTRY
