by Dan Mattson (handymancalifornia.com)
Is Audie Bock a political opportunist or a fish out of the water flopping around? After her announcement today to go Democrat and challenge Barbara Lee for congress, claiming she (1) doesn't empathise with America, and (2) doesn't represent her constiunentcy one has to wonder. In March 1999 Audie Bock got elected to the California State Assembly as a Green. She then abandoned her base, turned independent, and lost re-elction to a Democrat in Nov 2000.

She resurfaced on August 3, 2001 at the Unitarian Fellowship Hall in Berkeley. The occassion was a teachi-in about the sanctions on Iraq, and call to end them. In hear introductory comments, she was proud to be from Berkeley and proud that Berkeley was challenging US policy. She encouraged everyone to bring the no-to-sanctions message from the Bay Area to everyone they know.

She claimed to be working on ending three strikes and the death penalty in California.

Today (10/18/01) she announced as a democrat, and that she was running against Barbar Lee for Congress. She claimed Barbara Lee did not empathize with Americ a and did not represent her constituency.

What will she do next?
