Life is Beautiful...

Do you know what kind of people use chemical and bio weapons against another society?

Life is Beautiful...

Can you imagine if they had sufficiently honed their chem/bio weapon skills? We'd have hundreds of thousand dying in hospitals right now...

Life is Beautiful...

Are you going to sit and stare at pretty pictures and denounce the "war-mongers" and question what we might have done in the past to bring this horror upon us?

Life is Beautiful...

When a woman is raped, do you ask her to reflect upon what bad things she did to cause the crime?

I thought so.

Go back to bed...maybe when you wake up, all this violence and bad people will have dissappeared.

You're right...we're just bombing Afghanistan for fun...there's no proof of anything there. Gosh, we should also fire the 5000 FBI agents and over 50,000 international investigators from around the world who have helped established this false proof against Al Quaeda. All those phone calls, money trail, emails, written notes and testimony by witnesses and Bin Laden's own incriminating statementis are pile of crap-- it could be little green men from Mars who did this terrorism for all we know!

VIETNAM is a great one to bring up-- we apologized as a Nation for the use of Agent Orange which we used before we knew of its long term effects...do you think Iraq will apologize? Will the terrorists? No, you see-- their GOAL is to kill as many Americans as possible.

Talk about poor analogies.

Let's all hang out and wait for them to develop nuclear capability and see where they decide to test it...yeah, that would be good.

I personally believe it's highly probable that al-quaeda is at least indirectly responsible for the WTC and Pentagon bombings. These Islamist organizations are fanatically reactionary, and clearly see terror as one of their primary means. This is why the US/CIA has made good use of them in the past. The Taliban and al-Quada emerged from the CIA backed war in Afghanistan in the 80's. Zbignew Brzezinski, the Sec of State under Carter, has gloated that the US began financing the Mujahadeen prior to the Soviet invasion and that provoking the USSR into a quagmire was part of the plan. The US wanted the Soviets to experience their own Vietnam. More than 1 million Afghani's died as a result, oh well.
Speaking of Vietnam, the US apology must be huge solace to the 3 million Vietnamese that were killed by Americans in that war.
As far as Hussein and use of chemical weapons: The US supported the Iraq B'aathist party as early as the 60's, because it was rightly seen by the CIA as the perfect tool for eradicating anti-capitalist radicals in Iraq. The US supported Hussein throughout the 80's, and was not particularly perturbed by his use of chemical weapons against the Kurds, who were seen by both the US and Hussein as a destabilizing force. In any event, the US continued supporting Saddam after these "weapons of mass destruction" were used. It wasn't until the CIA's friend got a bit too big for his britches and invaded the Corporation of Kuwait that the US became, suddenly, scandalized by Hussein's human rights record. It wasn't an accident that Hussein was kept in power after the so-called Persian Gulf War: the US continued to see him as necessary both as a counterweight to Iran and as a built-in pretext for continued US military presence in the region. Of course, similar to Afghanistan, it was the Iraqi civilian population that has suffered from the combined effects of bombings, sanctions, and the deliberate destruction of Iraq's industrial infrastructure. It is estimated that 5,000 children die every month as a result of US policies that have done nothing to loosen Hussein's grip on power.

Thats not just pretty pictures above, thats our HOME.
It is life, and what little life that there is in this part of the Milky Way...

If we fuck up this home, not only are we all homeless,
but dead to boot.

No future, nada, zip, sayonara, adios, end of the road,
dead end, etc.....

How long till the nuke em thing comes to pass, and we
all find ourdelves in a world of shit...Do any of us even know why?

Someone needs to turn this thing off now...No star wars, no nukes, and create a whole new trip that will distribute the resources of the planet equally among all.

From what I can tell, we see the last gasp of the capitalists grabbing everything that they can get their hands on, and killing off the rest that may even think about a better life for all...Fuck them pricks...

I don't get these arguments about how in the 60's or 50's we supported so and so, and therefore it's out fault that they are now an evil regime that oppresses their people.

The United States has long been the wealthiest and most resource capable country, and therefore has an active support role for virtually every country and halfway supportive political faction in existence-- no matter who they are or what they stand for. We give food and aid to countries that we are at war with, for instance.

So, please, don't conjure up these facts from the past (the world does change as well, the 1960's are 40+ years ago) to blame America for all the ills of the world. It's like saying every killer's mother is responsible for the evil actions of their child.

Can someone at least recognize that America has a lot of good-- and it's possible that just MAYBE some of the things we try to do are in the name of good and not evil/capitalist greed?

It seems so one-sided, and really, misguided around here.

Wishing or imagining things does not make them so.
