African American Art and Culture Complex
762 Fulton St. (cross street Webster) in San Francisco
At the daytime forums we will look back at the last decade of human rights work in California's prisons, and will celebrate the inside and outside resistance to the prison industrial complex. We will also look ahead at strategies to effectively combat the prison system as we know it.

1:30-2:45--The Drug Wars, Racism and the Incarceration of a Generation

Roderick Coleman, human rights activist and former prisoner
Judy Greenspan, HIV and HEP C in prison activist
4:30-5:45--Criminal Injustice: Racism, Land Use and Mass Incarceration
Ruthie Gilmore, organizer with Critical Resistance, professor and author of Golden Gulag
San Francisco Supervisor Sophie Maxwell
Dylan Rodriguez, Professor in the Dept of Ethnic Studies at UC Riverside, Critical Resistance
7:30-10:00--Evening Jam with blues folk singer Faith Nolan, poetry posse, Word Wind Chorus, former political prisoner poet Bato Talamantez, and a surprise musical guest.
$5-$10 donation requested. No one turned away for lack of funds. Desserts and nonalcholic beverages served after 6:30 PM. The Art and Culture Complex is wheelchair accessible. Child care will be provided (reservations required). Call (415) 252-9211, or e-mail prisonfocus [at] energy-net.org
