On Sunday, 30sep01 in response to 11sep01 'attack on America' and in celebration of the principals of peace community activists Washington Peace Center and the DC office of the American Friends Service Committee called for "... justice, not revenge ..." in a massive 'peace' march that began at 11am in Malcolm X Park with a speakers' rally & prayer vigil and then proceded from the park at 15th Street crossing via Euclid Street down to 14th Street and then down 14th where at the bottom of 'The Hill' at 14th and Florida Avenue Police Chief Ramsey and Assistant Chief Gainer joined in and led the march, on foot, further down 14th Street to R and then onward to Massachusetts Avenue where in Sheridan Circle protesters gathered for a second rally and grieved for the victims of the 11sep trajedy.
