Pakistan nuclear plant explodes

by Sarah
kaboom
Why is nobody telling us about it!
by RJJ
these posts by judi/sarah/eileen are so ridiculous that they merit no comment. sf indymedia might do well to hide them. what do other readers of indymedia think?
by Ace (nospam [at] speakeasy.net)
Oh really? Please tell us more about it. You obviously live in Pakistan near this plant, so why don't you provide us with the news?

She's gone from spamming IMCs with ridiculous Black Helicopters- Illuminati- NWO propaganda to repeatedly spreading rumors and palpable lies.

Apparently the last couple of days have pushed her over the edge, from "true believer" loonery to outright psychosis.

These posts waste resources, serve no good purpose, might advance a bad one (i.e. the spreading of hysterical rumor) and, in their persistence and constant excessive cross-posting, meet the definition of Net abuse.

I would support the IMC volunteers pushing these posts into the hidden area, to make room for actual news and other useful stuff.

The only thing that will convince NetLoons like this one and ol' spammaster Bobby Israel to leave the IMCs alone and go do their thing on Usenet or somewhere will be to deny them their gratification, by keeping them off the newswire.

Although I think the idea of this being an uncensored open place to talk is important, I would agree that continual posting by people who are not contributing 'legitimate,' meaning newsworthy or sincere, commentary, might be cause for some limits. At a certain point it undermines the website.

Still, I have mixed feelings. Maybe a better response would be to coordinate appropriate responses to these people - what's the right way to deal with them? Hurling insults doesn't seem to have an impact. These people are probably the equivalent to the boys in the jets equating their bombing with a football game. Maybe simply to completely ignore their postings (which are obvious from the titles) and provide no comment whatsoever is best, since they don't deserve our time.

Better still, we could simply list what we love about Indymedia.

The thing I love about this site is its immediacy and its open acceptance of anything and anyone. Maybe that's most important of all.

Folks should post truth. This is what indymedia is about. post facks with stuff to substantiate claims.
